RULING AND REIGNING WITH GOD<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Part 16<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In order to maintain\r\nthe continuity between last week\u2019s discussion and this week\u2019s, Let\u2019s pick up\r\nwith some of the statements we wrapped last week with.\u00a0 <\/span>We go back to Isaiah\u2019s prophecy.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nIsaiah 28:13, we are told, <\/span>\u201cBut the Word of the Lord was\r\nunto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon\r\nline, here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward,\r\nand be broken, and snared, and taken.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\nIsaiah was driving at, even some 700 years or so before Paul\u2019s directive to the\r\nHebrews, was that folks had lost sight of the Spirit of the Law.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Paul\r\ntakes up this same theme and is essentially saying to the body of Christ, <\/span>\u201cThere\r\nis nothing left for you to do!\u00a0 <\/span>Pleasing\r\nthe Lord is not in the keeping of laws, statutes and commandments; pleasing the\r\nLord and having fellowship with Him is not in the doing of things, it is in\r\nBEING in Him!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nTHAT, Family, is also where our ability to rule and reign with Him resides!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Everything\r\nthat could possibly have been done that had been a part of the past was\r\nfinished.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus was the finishing of the\r\nLaw, the Statutes and the Commandments.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He didn\u2019t invalidate them, as the \u201creligionists\u201d of the day would like to\r\nbelieve; He wrapped them into the very agape nature of Father God and\r\nfellowship with Him!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nwasn\u2019t doing away with them, but it WAS doing away with the observance of them\r\nas laws and commandments by force!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Unfortunately,\r\nthe body of Christ has been caught up in the same dilemma today with opposite\r\nextremes.\u00a0 <\/span>On one hand, you have those\r\nwho run with it so far to the right that \u201cGrace\u201d covers everything including\r\ntheir continuance in sin and utterly perverse activities.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Much\r\nof the teaching on Grace misses the fact that Grace is the enabling and\r\nempowerment by the Holy Spirit to do and accomplish what the Lord gives us to\r\ndo \u2014 both past and present.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Within\r\nthe LGBT agenda, there are those who profess to be born-again (even supposedly\r\nSpirit-baptized) Christians who maintain their right to \u201clove whomever they\r\nchoose\u201d and\/or marry someone of the same sex because \u201cGod is a God of love, and\r\nHis Grace covers us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

On\r\nthe other side of the pendulum swing are those who preach and teach the\r\nnecessity of digging into one\u2019s past, their family histories, past generations\r\n(in some cases attempting to go back ten generations or more) in order to deal\r\nwith iniquities (a fancy word which essentially describes a character flaw, or\r\na twist in one\u2019s way of thinking) or \u201cfamily curses\u2019, or the visiting of the\r\nsins of the father upon the children, etc., etc., etc., ad\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>infinitum.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nWhen\r\nJesus went to the Cross Isaiah wrote, <\/span>\u201cSurely He has\r\nsuffered and accepted as His own our maladies, our anxieties, our calamities,\r\nour disease and sicknesses, and carried our anguish, pain and grief: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cYet we fabricated and maliciously invented His being stricken\r\nviolently, beaten, punished, wounded and slaughtered as if by God -- choosing\r\nto believe that God browbeat, demeaned and looked down upon Him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cBut He was broken and profaned for our rebellion, our revolt,\r\nour apostasy and our [religious] quarrel against God; <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u201cHe was crushed, oppressed and smitten, and (emotionally) broken\r\ninto pieces for our perversity, our evil, our mischief, sins and faults; the\r\nbreaking and ridiculing of our peace, our welfare, our prosperity, our health\r\nand our safety was upon Him; <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cAnd with His bloodied and blue wounds we are cured, mended,\r\nrepaired and made thoroughly whole.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(Isaiah 53:4-5, RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Understand?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

All\r\nof that happened BEFORE He went to the Cross!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Do you see anything He didn\u2019t cover?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then\r\nconsider what happened on the Cross.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nwhat happened when the centurion pierced Jesus\u2019 side while He was hanging on\r\nthe Cross?\u00a0 <\/span>Water and blood came forth\r\nfrom Him.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus\u2019 last words before He\r\ndied were, \u201cIt is finished!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nwhat was finished?\u00a0 <\/span>Death.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\nwas finished?\u00a0 <\/span>A new birth was taking\r\nplace: a bride was being birthed for the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>But this birth was unlike any in\r\nhistory.\u00a0 <\/span>In the realm of the flesh, a\r\nbirth takes place in the midst of\u00a0 <\/span>water\r\nand blood.\u00a0 <\/span>Babies come forth out of the\r\nwater or amniotic fluid that keeps them alive while they are still in the womb,\r\nand blood accompanies the birthing process.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus,\r\nhowever, made it clear that this new birth was NOT of water \u2014 not in the normal\r\nsense \u2014 nor of blood, even though His blood was shed in the process.\u00a0 <\/span>A supernatural transformation \u2014 a\r\nregeneration \u2014 was taking place.\u00a0 <\/span>This\r\nnew birth was taking place in that realm which has authority and power over the\r\nflesh and the soul: the spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>A\r\ndimensional change was occurring.\u00a0 <\/span>We\r\nwere being changed from slaves to rulers!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>A preparation process was beginning to unfold which would result in\r\nradical transformation in us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hence,\r\nJesus said to Nicodemus, <\/span>\u201cThat which is born of the flesh is\r\nflesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\ndeath only affects our flesh, because death has power over unredeemed flesh, a\r\nnew kind of birth had to take place \u2014 one that had never before occurred in\r\nhistory.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now\r\nyou\u2019re beginning to get the picture.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Jesus\u2019 most earnest desire is that we promulgate, that we announce to\r\nthe world the fact that He kept our appointment with death.\u00a0 <\/span>We no longer have to suffer death, disease,\r\nsickness, infirmity, poverty, etc.\u00a0 <\/span>But\r\nthere\u2019s more.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis important that we not only show the world our deliverance from death: we\r\nmust also demonstrate to Satan, to principalities, to rulers of this world\u2019s\r\ndarkness, that we\u2019ve been set free from the curse of death, that we\u2019ve been\r\nfreed from Satan\u2019s dominion, that we\u2019ve been restored the authority, the power\r\nand the dominion originally given to Adam in the Garden of Eden.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Water\r\nbaptism \u2014 as we have already discussed in a past series \u2014 does just that.\u00a0 <\/span>This ordinance \u2014 this statute \u2014 has enormous\r\nspiritual significance.\u00a0 <\/span>This isn\u2019t for\r\nthe world\u2019s sake, even though it is part of an outward show, a demonstration of\r\na spiritual regeneration that has taken place.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis a \u201cHands Off!\u201d declaration to Satan.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is the posting of a legal decree which clearly states we are no\r\nlonger members of that class of human beings subject to the Law of Sin and\r\nDeath.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nold being which was subject to death and had the \u201cknowledge virus\u201d in our genes\r\nhas been put to death. The appointment with death has been kept.\u00a0 <\/span>The person who then comes up out of the water\r\nis raised from the dead by the Spirit of God.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This newly-born individual is born again \u2014 both of water AND of the\r\nSpirit!\u00a0 <\/span>Once again we have Paul\u2019s\r\ndescription to the Romans: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cAll of us who have been baptized\r\ninto Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death.<\/u>\u201c\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Yessir!\u00a0 <\/span>The appointment with death has been\r\nkept.\u00a0 <\/span>That means that death can no\r\nlonger rule over us \u2014 we rule over death!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nagain Paul says, <\/span>\u201cas Christ was raised from the dead\r\nthrough the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.<\/u>\u201d <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\n\u201cnew us\u201d is no longer subject to the Law of Sin and Death.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans 8:2<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>For the law of the Spirit of life in\r\nChrist Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\n\u201cnew us\u201d is free from death, sickness, disease, infirmity, weakness, poverty,\r\nneed, etc.\u00a0 <\/span>Now we\u2019re free to demonstrate\r\nJesus!\u00a0 <\/span>We are free to demonstrate His\r\nrulership over all!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\ndeath on the Cross freed us from the \u201cdead works of the Law.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The Cross established a line of demarcation\r\nbetween the past and the future.\u00a0 <\/span>The\r\nCross means that we can move forward into our destinies in the Lord Jesus\r\nChrist.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nCross means that we no longer have to repeat the rituals of repentance and\r\nasking for forgiveness of all of our sins.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>When Jesus\u2019 was pierced through by the Centurion, blood and water came\r\nout of His side.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

According\r\nto the archaeological expedition conducted back in the late 1980\u2019s by Ron\r\nWyatt, when he found the Ark of the Covenant, there were traces of blood on the\r\nMercy Seat that had dripped down through the crack in the earth above where the\r\nbase of the Cross had been dropped into a hole.\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\u2019\r\nblood was the ONCE AND FOR ALL SACRIFICE!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It was a physical demonstration, but it had legal implications as far as\r\nthe Law of Moses was concerned!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our\r\nsins, our iniquities, our faults and failures were paid for, ONCE AND FOR\r\nALL TIME!\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>So once we are in Christ,\r\nwe\u2019ve been set free from the continual need for repentance from dead\r\nworks.\u00a0 <\/span>We CAN <\/b>go on to the\r\nperfecting and completing that Jesus Christ has for us!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\ncan go on into the preparation processes that Holy Spirit wants to take us\r\nthrough in order to change our past nature and character from the places of\r\nservitude and dependence on a lifestyle and behavior which is the very\r\nantithesis of Who Jesus is.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Stop\r\nand think for moment about the habits and practices you\u2019ve lived with.\u00a0 <\/span>Think about your past speech patterns.\u00a0 <\/span>How have you spoken when expected events\r\ndidn\u2019t take the course you intended or desired?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Was it discouragement?\u00a0 <\/span>Was it\r\ndoubt?\u00a0 <\/span>Did you speak poorly of yourself\r\nor your abilities as a result?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Or\r\ndid you speak faith?\u00a0 <\/span>Did you speak\r\npositively about the goal and intended outcome, even if it was taking longer\r\nthan you hoped for?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\nabout God\u2019s promises to you personally?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>What has God spoken to you about events to unfold in your life?\u00a0 <\/span>Have they occurred yet, and do you believe\r\nwithout the slightest doubt \u2014 and say so verbally \u2014that those events will\r\nunquestionably be fulfilled?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nget the picture, I\u2019m sure.\u00a0 <\/span>You are all\r\nfamiliar with the statement in Proverbs 23:7:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cAs [he] a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\r\nme finish this though with a corroborating statement that Jesus made.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Matthew 12:36-37:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u201cBut this I\r\ndeclare to you: For every idle, non-productive, \u201cunfruitful\u201d word that men\r\nshall permit to come out of their mouths, they shall give a reason and account\r\nof in the day of God\u2019s Tribunal.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cBecause by the very nature of the words and conversation that\r\ncomes out of your mouth, you will be considered and rendered as just or innocent;\r\nand by the same token, whatever negative words or conversation coming forth\r\nfrom your lips will bring forth a judgement and condemnation against you.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nYou\r\nget the picture, I\u2019m sure!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Our\r\nmouths are specifically responsible for the kind of rulership that we were\r\ncreated for.\u00a0 <\/span>If we use our mouths\r\nunfruitfully, judgement is rendered against us.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>There is power and authority \u2014 for good or for evil, both for or against\r\nus \u2014 in the way we speak.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nall understand that faith is a main ingredient in the process of ruling and\r\nreigning with the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>Right?\u00a0 <\/span>So let me pose a few questions for you to\r\nchew on.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Has\r\nGod ever said something that He didn\u2019t fulfil?\u00a0\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Has He ever made a promise that He didn\u2019t keep?\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Has He ever covenanted with any of us that\r\nHe didn\u2019t guarantee?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Consider\r\nthe following example:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Matthew 10:7-9:<\/span><\/u><\/b>And as ye go,\r\npreach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the\r\nlepers, raise the dead, cast out devils<\/u>: freely ye have received, freely\r\ngive. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, <\/span>Then\r\nwe have the following proofs of performance:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Matthew 11:4-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Jesus answered and\r\nsaid unto them, Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see:\r\nThe blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and\r\nthe deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to\r\nthem. And blessed is he<\/i>, whosoever shall not be offended in me.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nhow about this one?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Luke 10:17-20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the\r\ndevils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld\r\nSatan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on\r\nserpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall\r\nby any means hurt you. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are\r\nsubject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sounds\r\npretty simple, doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 <\/span>Yet for some\r\nreason, a huge majority of God\u2019s people don\u2019t take advantage of what Jesus paid\r\nfor on their behalf.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nrealize, don\u2019t you, that we\u2019ve been redeemed from the curse?\u00a0 <\/span>Everything that Jesus paid for on the Cross\r\nis ours, so long as we believe it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nproblem with many \u201cbelievers\u201d is that they don\u2019t!\u00a0 <\/span>Of course they believe that Jesus saves, that\r\nHe heals, that He delivers, that He sets us free, that He raises the dead, \u201cbut\r\nthat\u2019s for someone whom God has anointed to do those things, not me!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nconsequence is that we live our lives in unbelief when it comes to taking care\r\nof our own needs.\u00a0 <\/span>As I write these notes\r\nfor today, we lost our beloved brother, GeorgeRobinson.\u00a0 <\/span>George could pray for other people and see an\r\nabundance of miracles.\u00a0 <\/span>He healed the\r\nsick, cast out demons, raised the dead, spoke the Word and people were filled\r\nwith the Holy Spirit.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>I ministered with\r\nGeorge on many occasions, mostly in telephone conferences, and he was a\r\nblessing to be around, or to fellowship with.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

George\r\nhad a failing, however.\u00a0 <\/span>He could easily\r\napply the Word in ministering to others, but applying it to himself was another\r\nmatter entirely.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>I called and prayed\r\nfor him when he was in the hospital more times than I can count.\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord always raised him up, and he was\r\nsent home from the hospital shortly thereafter.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nI talked to him about this issue, he would say that he knew the Word, but\r\nsomehow couldn\u2019t apply it to himself.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>That\u2019s a rotten trick of the Enemy!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He deceives God\u2019s people into believing that they can do for others, but\r\nnot themselves.\u00a0 <\/span>On the other hand he\r\ndeceives God\u2019s people into believing that they can have those things, but \u201cthey\r\nare not spiritual enough to do it for others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\ndon\u2019t want to point fingers at George.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is a common failing among believers.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve even been guilty of it myself.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Consider\r\nthis.\u00a0 <\/span>You are fighting with some issue\r\nand you start praying about it.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cLord, I\r\nneed healing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Really?\u00a0 <\/span>What did Jesus say?\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI have given you all authority and power\r\nover all sickness, disease, infirmity, etc.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Why should I have to do for you what you can easily do for\r\nyourself?\u00a0 <\/span>Speak the word of authority!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\u2019re\r\nbeing harassed by Satan.\u00a0 <\/span>Your income has\r\ndropped so that you cannot pay your bills.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>You are about to be evicted from your home of many years.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>You start praying, \u201cLord help me!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Once again, He has given you the authority\r\nto speak to the situation.\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t\r\nneed to pray about it.\u00a0 <\/span>Speak to your\r\nfinances.\u00a0 <\/span>No matter what the Lord asks\r\nyou to do from that moment forward, do it.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Watch the blessing of the Lord flow!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n
