\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We often associate\r\nauthority with Royalty.\u00a0 <\/span>Indeed, we ARE\r\nRoyalty!\u00a0 <\/span>Unfortunately, we\u2019ve been\r\nprogrammed by our society, by our surroundings, by what we see and hear on\r\ntelevision, radio and general advertising to see ourselves in an unfavorable\r\nlight, and we fall into the trap of thinking of ourselves in the light of\r\nsomething considerably less than what God has designed us to be.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Consider again what\r\nSolomon wrote in the Proverbs.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Proverbs 23:7<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/b>As (he) a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nwe think less of ourselves than what God thinks of us, we will never measure up\r\nto the picture that John saw when he was transported into Heaven.\u00a0 <\/span>Twice, he sees something that is absolutely\r\nstupendous.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 5:6-10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the\r\nfour beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,\r\nhaving seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent\r\nforth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of\r\nhim that sat upon the throne. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and<\/i>\r\ntwenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and\r\ngolden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the\r\nbook, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us\r\nto God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall\r\nreign on the earth. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nsee it don\u2019t you?\u00a0 <\/span>Put yourself right in\r\nthe middle of that event!\u00a0 <\/span>The Lord Jesus\r\nChrist is standing up in the midst of the Throne Room.\u00a0 <\/span>He has taken the book out of the hand of\r\nFather \u2014 a book that no one else had been able to open because of the seven\r\nseals that locked it up tight.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

As\r\nHe does so, the four and twenty elders, along with the four beasts, fall to\r\ntheir knees and begin to worship.\u00a0 <\/span>As\r\nthey worship, a part of the song that they are singing is <\/span>\u201d(Thou)\r\nhast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and\r\npeople, and nation; <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall\r\nreign on the earth<\/span><\/u>.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\nhas been referred to on several occasions in the Word as \u201cThe King of\r\nKings.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Excuse me?\u00a0 <\/span>What kings?\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201d(He) hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall\r\nreign on the earth<\/span><\/u>.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Unless\r\nI\u2019ve missed it completely, WE are the kings the elders are singing about.\u00a0 <\/span>WE are the Royalty of Heaven.\u00a0 <\/span>WE have God\u2019s authority functioning in us,\r\nthrough us, with us, around us \u2014 you\u2019ve got the picture, I\u2019m sure!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But\r\nthis isn\u2019t the only time John speaks of us in this manner.\u00a0 <\/span>Listen to how he opens up this book of\r\nRevelation!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 1:3-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>Blessed is<\/i> he that readeth, and they that hear the words\r\nof this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time\r\nis<\/i> at hand.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be<\/i>\r\nunto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come;\r\nand from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And from Jesus Christ, who is<\/i> the faithful witness, and<\/i>\r\nthe first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto\r\nhim that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to\r\nhim be<\/i> glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nJesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords says it, that settles\r\nit!\u00a0 <\/span>We are Kings and Priests unto Father\r\nGod!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Before\r\nwe move on to some examples of what it actually cost to take our rightful place\r\non the Throne with the Lord Jesus Christ as joint-heirs and joint-rulers, let\r\nme take you to one more picture from the Revelation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 20:4-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And\r\nI saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I\r\nsaw<\/i> the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for\r\nthe word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image,\r\nneither had received his<\/i> mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;\r\nand they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand\r\nyears were finished. This is<\/i> the first resurrection. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Blessed and holy is<\/i> he that hath part in the first\r\nresurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests\r\nof God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\ntake a look at this from the Amplified Bible:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And then I saw thrones, and sitting on them were those to whom\r\njudgment [that is, the authority to act as judges] was given. And\u00a0I saw<\/i>\u00a0the\r\nsouls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and\r\nbecause of the word of God, and those who had refused to worship the beast or\r\nhis image, and had not accepted his mark on their forehead and on their hand;\r\nand they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>The rest of the dead [the\r\nnon-believers] did not come to life again until the thousand years were\r\ncompleted. This is the first resurrection.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) and holy is the person\r\nwho takes part in the first resurrection; over these the second death [which is\r\neternal separation from God, the lake of fire] has no power\u00a0or<\/i>\u00a0authority,\r\nbut they will be priests of God and of Christ and they will reign with Him a\r\nthousand years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nyou look at the Greek text and see the word \u201cbeheaded\u201d this word has multiple\r\nconnotations.\u00a0 <\/span>The meaning most often\r\ncomes from the word, pelekizo<\/span><\/b>, which\r\nmeans, to chop or truncate<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>But it is drawn from its root word, plesso<\/span><\/b>,\r\nwhich means: to smite, to pound, to inflict with calamity<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Why\r\nwould God\u2019s people be hammered or inflicted with calamity?\u00a0 <\/span>The Scripture makes it very clear.\u00a0 <\/span>It was because (<\/span>they)\r\nhad refused to worship the beast or his image, and had not accepted his mark on\r\ntheir forehead and on their hand.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Get\r\nit?\u00a0 <\/span>They refused to think or reason like\r\nthe beast, and they refused to conduct business in the way that the beast\r\nconducted business.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nhave those two Hebrew metaphors present in this passage again.\u00a0 <\/span>The mark in the forehead is to think \u2014 in\r\nthis case \u2014 as the beast thinks.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nhave a classic example of this in Ezekiel 9:4 where Ezekiel is instructed to\r\nsend a runner throughout the city of Jerusalem <\/span>\u201cand set a\r\nmark in the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry for all the abominations\r\nthat be done in the midst thereof.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\ntoday\u2019s way of thinking, we are talking about the global economic system,\r\nliving in continual debt and servitude to a way of life that is the opposite of\r\nwhat the Lord freed us from with His death on the cross and subsequent\r\nresurrection.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nmark in the right hand, of course, is the metaphor for the way we conduct\r\nbusiness.\u00a0 <\/span>I know that there\u2019s been a\r\nwhole lot of talk lately about taking a chip in your forehead or your right\r\nhand, and I\u2019ve listened to a talk from the scientist who invented that chip\r\nbefore realizing how it was going to be used against society.\u00a0 <\/span>Bill Gates has been promoting this with the\r\nidea of injecting it with the coronavirus vaccine.\u00a0 <\/span>However, I believe that if people do accept\r\nthat chip, it will only be because they have already bought into the world\r\nsystem, the economic system of the world, hook, line and sinker.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Indeed,\r\nit could be very costly for us to reject the taking of that chip, but pay\r\nattention to the way that John sees it in Heaven!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He\r\nsays, <\/span>who had refused to worship the beast or his image, and had not\r\naccepted his mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life\r\nand reigned with Christ for a thousand years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nwe get put to death for it, we are going to be brought back to life!\u00a0 <\/span>The enemy does not have the power of death\r\nover us anymore!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nLet\r\nme ask you this question.\u00a0 <\/span>You will\r\nprobably hear me ask this again and again in the coming weeks, months or years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

ARE\r\nYOU WILLING TO PAY WHATEVER IT COSTS TO HAVE TOTAL ACCESS AND OPERATE IN THE\r\nFULL AUTHORITY THAT JESUS CHRIST HAS MADE AVAILABLE?\u00a0 <\/span>Are you willing to undergo whatever processes\r\nare necessary in order to sit on the thrones of the Heavens with the Lord Jesus\r\nChrist?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Wow!\u00a0 <\/span>It has taken me a lot longer to get to where\r\nI wanted to start today, but laying this foundation in our understanding is\r\nimportant!\u00a0 <\/span>Getting to this place of\r\nultimate authority is costly, and worth every minute of it in the long\r\nrun!\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s consider the shepherd boy,\r\nthe nobody by the name of David, who was anointed and called to become the King\r\nof Israel, and whose responses to the Lord caused him to be spoken of as\r\n\u201cDavid, a man after mine own heart!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

David\r\nrefers to himself has having come into this world like this:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm 51:5<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Behold,\r\nI was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Some\r\nHebrew scholars have said that David used this phraseology to state that he was\r\nborn of an affair that his father had with some woman who was not his\r\nwife.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Whether\r\nin fact that is true, it is true that David was considered a \u201cno account\u201d by\r\nhis family.\u00a0 <\/span>He was relegated to the care\r\nof the family\u2019s sheep while his older brothers went about the family business\r\nand were considered Jesse\u2019s \u201cresponsible sons.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nSamuel the prophet showed up on the scene and said to Jesse that he was there\r\nbecause God had chosen one of Jesse\u2019s sons to become King in Israel, David was\r\nnot even a consideration.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\neach of David\u2019s seven brothers passed by Samuel in the expectation that the\r\nLord had chosen one of them, the Lord said to Samuel, \u201cNope.\u00a0 <\/span>Not him!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Not him!\u00a0 <\/span>Not him!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Finally, each of them has passed by Samuel\r\nand he has had nothing in his spirit regarding any of them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now\r\nhe is forced to ask Jesse, \u201cIs this all of your sons?\u00a0 <\/span>Don\u2019t you have another son?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesse\r\nis forced to answer, \u201cWell, we do have another, but he is just taking care of\r\nthe sheep.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>In other words, \u201cHe isn\u2019t\r\nreally important!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Samuel 16:11b-13<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And Samuel said unto\r\nJesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he\r\nsent, and brought him in. Now he was<\/i> ruddy, and<\/i> withal of a\r\nbeautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is<\/i> he.\r\nThen Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his\r\nbrethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now\r\nthe stage is going to be set for David\u2019s first trials and testing.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

As\r\nsoon as the Spirit of the Lord came upon David, and along with it, a\r\nsubconscious knowing that real authority had been given to him, that same\r\nSpirit of the Lord had departed from Saul, who had been rejected from being the\r\nKing of Israel by the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>At the same\r\ntime, we are told that an \u201cevil spirit from God\u201d came upon Saul, and he was in\r\nconstant torment.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Saul\u2019s\r\nservants told him that he needed to find someone who could play the harp, and\r\nplay well; that when he did, the music of the harpost would cause the evil\r\nspirit to leave.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Funny\r\nthing, David was the harpist chosen.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>When David played, he didn\u2019t entertain: he worshiped.\u00a0 <\/span>The enemy hates worship and cannot stay in\r\nthe presence of real worship.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Consequently, Saul experienced peace for a time.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Meanwhile,\r\nIsrael was engaged in battle against the Philistines.\u00a0 <\/span>Now Goliath shows up on the scene challenging\r\nIsrael.\u00a0 <\/span>The armies of Israel stood back,\r\ncowering in fear of the 11-foot giant.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

David\r\nis at home tending the sheep and knows nothing about it.\u00a0 <\/span>His three oldest brothers are in Saul\u2019s army\r\nand Jesse decides to send them some goodies, along with some extras for the\r\ncaptain of the host.\u00a0 <\/span>David, of course,\r\nis the likely choice to take those goodies.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He arrives on the scene and sees all the commotion.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Samuel 17:22-26<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the\r\ncarriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion,\r\nthe Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines,\r\nand spake according to the same words: and David heard them<\/i>. And all the\r\nmen of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come\r\nup? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that<\/i> the man\r\nwho killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him\r\nhis daughter, and make his father\u2019s house free in Israel.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall\r\nbe done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach\r\nfrom Israel? for who is<\/i> this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should\r\ndefy the armies of the living God?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\ndidn\u2019t take long for Saul to hear about David, and he calls for a discussion\r\nwith him.\u00a0 <\/span>David tells Saul about his\r\nexperiences in killing the lion and the bear and tells Saul that Goliath will\r\nbe just like one of them.\u00a0 <\/span>After a failed\r\nattempt to put Saul\u2019s armor on David, he takes off toward Goliath clothed only\r\nin his sheepskin.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Goliath\r\nis insulted when he sees David and curses him out.\u00a0 <\/span>David isn\u2019t the least bit challenged and\r\nanswers him like this:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Samuel 17:46-47<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will\r\nsmite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the\r\nhost of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild\r\nbeasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with\r\nsword and spear: for the battle is<\/i> the LORD\u2019S, and he will give you into\r\nour hands.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nthat\u2019s precisely what happened. \u00a0<\/span>David\u2019s\r\nvictory over Goliath panicked the Philistines and they fled before Israel.\u00a0 <\/span>The armies of Israel pursued the Philistines\r\nto a great slaughter.\u00a0 <\/span>David earned\r\nhimself a reputation as a great warrior, and that became a problem for him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nwomen of Israel began to sing, <\/span>\u201cSaul has slain his thousands,\r\nand David his ten thousands.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>When Saul heard\r\nthis, his jealousy towards David exploded and he began to look for ways to get\r\nrid of David.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Things\r\ncame to a head for David when he was called to come and play the harp for Saul\r\nbecause the evil spirits were tormenting him again.\u00a0 <\/span>While David was playing, Saul grabbed his\r\nspear and hurled it at David.\u00a0 <\/span>The spear\r\nmissed, but David had to get out of there.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He realized that Saul had it out for him and he could no longer be where\r\nSaul would have access.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare told in I Samuel 18 that Saul was afraid of David and removed him from his\r\nsenior military leadership, making him captain over only (!) a thousand.\u00a0 <\/span>I Samuel 18:14-15 tells us:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was<\/i>\r\nwith him. Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was\r\nafraid of him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

So\r\nSaul takes occasion to promise him Michal, his daughter, as David\u2019s wife.\u00a0 <\/span>David is suspicious, but Saul thinks to use\r\nthis as a means to kill him by sending him out to get the foreskins of a\r\nhundred Philistines.\u00a0 <\/span>So David brings him\r\ntwo hundred instead.\u00a0 <\/span>From that point\r\nforward, the relationship between Saul and David became one of continual fear\r\nand enmity and anger with Saul looking for every opportunity to take his life.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Things\r\nnow are only going to get worse.\u00a0 <\/span>David\r\nis shortly going to have to be on the run for his life, avoiding Saul\u2019s armies\r\ndaily.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n
