We\u2019ve been dealing\r\nwith some pretty weighty topics over the last months.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s take a break for the next few weeks and\r\ntake a look at some unusual mathematical features that appear repetitiously in\r\nthe Word.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve always been a math hound\r\nand numbers played a great part in my early education (hence, a substantial\r\npart of my business career being based in math).<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Number Eight<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In Isaiah 7:14, it is\r\nwritten: \"Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold a\r\nvirgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name\r\nImmanuel.\"\u00a0 <\/span>Implicit in the name\r\n\"Immanuel\" is that Jesus is God incarnate.\u00a0 <\/span>This word came from the Hebrew\r\nword \"emanoo\" which means \"with us\" and \"el\"\r\nwhich means \"God.\"\u00a0 <\/span>In other\r\nwords it is saying about Jesus is that He is \"God with us\"!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus in Hebrew is\r\n\"Yeshua\". When this word is reversed it spells the Hebrew for\r\n\"My Maker.\"\u00a0 <\/span>This confirms the\r\nfact that Jesus is co-eternal with the Father in creation. Colossians 1: 16\r\n\"...all things were created by Him and for Him.\"<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There is such a thing\r\ncalled Biblical Numerics.\u00a0It differs from numerology which is an occult\r\npractice.\u00a0 Biblical Numerics are based on the numbering system God used in\r\nthe Bible. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Eight\" is the\r\nnumber of divine perfection.\u00a0 <\/span>In the\r\nBible, it belongs to Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Throughout\r\nthe Word God's people are characterized by 8's, multiples of 8, and powers of\r\n8.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In Greek the numerical\r\nvalue for Jesus = 888<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\nIn English \"Jesus\" is 10+5+19+21+10 =74 x12 = 888<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\nIn English \"Messiah\" is 13+5+19+19+9+ 1+8 = 74 x12= 888<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Here is an interesting\r\nphenomenon:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\nJesus = 74 x 12 = 888<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\nMessiah = 74 x 12 = 888<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\nThis proves that Jesus indeed is the Messiah.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\nYowd=10 + Hay=5 + Vav=6 + Hay=5 = 26 and\u00a02+6 =8<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Immanuel also has 8\r\nletters.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The book of Revelation\r\nhas 888\u00a0Greek words.\u00a0 <\/span>It was given\r\nto the Apostle John by the Master of the Universe Himself, Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Number Seven<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nimagine for a moment that you are given a task of setting forth your own\r\ngenealogy and backing up as far as you can in the generations of your family to\r\ndraw the picture of your genetic lineage.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We\u2019re going to complicate this a bit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nnumber of words in your genealogy must be divisible by 7 evenly.\u00a0 <\/span>The number of letters in your genealogy must\r\nbe divisible by 7 evenly.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\u2019s\r\nmore.\u00a0 <\/span>The number of vowels used in your\r\ngenealogy must be divisible by 7 evenly, as also the number of consonants.\u00a0 <\/span>They must likewise be divisible by 7 evenly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\u2019re\r\ngoing to continue even further.\u00a0 <\/span>The\r\nnumber of words that begin with a vowel must be divisible by 7, AND the number\r\nof words that begin with a consonant must be divisible by 7.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But\r\nwait.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re not done!\u00a0 <\/span>The number of words that occur more than once\r\nmust also be divisible by 7.\u00a0 <\/span>The number\r\nof words that occur in more than one form must be divisible by 7.\u00a0 <\/span>The number of words that occur in only one\r\nform must be divisible by 7.\u00a0 <\/span>The number\r\nof nouns must be divisible by 7.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

By\r\nnow you\u2019ve given up.\u00a0 <\/span>What I\u2019m describing\r\nto you is so impossible that the odds are literally beyond calculation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nyet there is still more.\u00a0 <\/span>Only 7 words\r\nshall not be nouns.\u00a0 <\/span>There can be only 7\r\nother kinds of nouns.\u00a0 <\/span>The number of male\r\nnames in this genealogy must be divisible by 7.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>And, finally, the number of generations in this genealogy must be\r\ndivisible by 7.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Not\r\npossible is it?\u00a0 <\/span>Not by any natural\r\nmeans, anyway!\u00a0 <\/span>But we\u2019re not talking \u201cnatural.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re talking about the Divine\r\nSupernatural.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019re talking about the\r\nLord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nwhat we\u2019ve just described to you mathematically is the genealogy of Jesus\r\nChrist as described in the Greek text of Matthew 1:1-16.\u00a0 <\/span>It is a picture of the Divine Plan\r\nestablished so accurately and so precisely that no rational person could ever\r\nimagine as random.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Number Twelve<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Twelve is a perfect number,\r\nsignifying perfection of government, or of governmental perfection. It is found\r\nas a multiple in all that has to do with rule. The sun which \"rules\"\r\nthe day, and the moon and stars which \"govern\" the night, do so by\r\ntheir passage through the twelve signs of the Zodiac which completes the great\r\ncircle of the heavens of 360 (12 x 30) degrees or divisions, and thus govern\r\nthe year.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Twelve is the product of 3 (the\r\nperfectly Divine and heavenly number) and 4 (the earthly, the number of what is\r\nmaterial and organic).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

While seven is composed of 3\r\nadded to 4, the number twelve is 3 multiplied by 4, and hence denotes that\r\nwhich can scarcely be explained in words, but which the spiritual perception\r\ncan at once appreciate, viz., organization, the products denoting production\r\nand multiplication and increase of all that is contained in the two numbers\r\nseparately. The 4 is generally prominently seen in the twelve.

\r\nThe Twelve Patriarchs<\/b>
\r\n
\r\n<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There were twelve patriarchs\r\nfrom (and including) Shem (the son of Noah) to Jacob:

\r\n1. Shem<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n2. Arphaxad<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n3. Salah<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n4. Heber<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n5. Peleg<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n6. Reu<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n7. Serug<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n
\r\n8. Nahor<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe Sons of Israel<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nThe twelve sons of Israel, though actually thirteen in number, are never listed\r\nwith 13 names in a single list.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There are about 18 enumerations\r\naltogether, but in each list one or the other sons \/ tribes is omitted.\r\nGenerally it is Levi, but not always. In Revelation 7 both Dan and Ephraim are\r\nomitted (see number 8), but the enumeration is still twelve, Levi and Joseph\r\nbeing introduced for this special sealing of the remnant which shall go\r\nunscathed through the great tribulation.
\r\n
\r\nHow is the number twelve represented in Solomon's Temple<\/b>?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nThe temple of Solomon has twelve as the predominating factor, in contrast with\r\nthe Tabernacle, which had the number five. This agrees with the grace which\r\nshines in the Tabernacle, and with the glory of the kingdom which is displayed\r\nin the Temple. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When we come to the New\r\nTestament we find the same great principle pervading the Apostolic government\r\nas we see in the Patriarchal and National, for we have the following groups of\r\ntwelve:
\r\n
\r\n\u2022The Apostles.
\r\n
\r\n\u2022The foundations in the heavenly Jerusalem.
\r\n
\r\n\u2022The gates.
\r\n
\r\n\u2022The pearls.
\r\n
\r\n\u2022The angels.
\r\n
\r\nHow is the number 12 in the New\r\nJerusalem?<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nThe measurement of the new Jerusalem will be 12,000 furlongs square, while the\r\nwall will be 144 (12 x 12) cubits, Revelation 21:16,17.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The number of the sealed in\r\nRevelation 7:4 will be 144,000, and all that has to do with the Twelve Tribes\r\nis necessarily pervaded by this number, such as the stones in the High Priest's\r\nbreastplate, the stones taken out of the Jordan, the number of the spies, etc.\r\netc., and therefore we have not referred to all such reference in these pages.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nWho were the 12 people specially\r\nANOINTED to serve in government?<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nTwelve persons were anointed for government of various kinds. Of course, all\r\nkings, priests, prophets, and healed lepers were anointed; but the\r\ncircumstances of the anointing of twelve individuals is specially recorded. Of\r\nthese, five were priests (Aaron and his four sons, Exodus 6:23) and seven were\r\nkings:

\r\n1. Aaron, Exodus 29:7,9, etc.
\r\n
\r\n2. Nadab, Exodus 29:7,9, etc.
\r\n
\r\n3. Abihu, Exodus 29:7,9, etc.
\r\n
\r\n4. Eleazar, Exodus 29:7,9, etc.
\r\n
\r\n5. Ithamar, Exodus 29:7,9, etc.
\r\n
\r\n6. Saul, 1Samuel 10:1.
\r\n
\r\n7. David, * 1Samuel 16:13.
\r\n
\r\n8. Absalom, 2Samuel 19:10.
\r\n
\r\n9. Solomon, 1Kings 1:39.
\r\n
\r\n10. Jehu, 2Kings 9:6.
\r\n
\r\n11. Joash, 2Kings 11:12.
\r\n
\r\n12. Jehoahaz, 2Kings 23:30.
\r\n
\r\n* David was anointed three times, viz: by Samuel, 1 Samuel 16:13; by the men of\r\nJudah, 2Samuel 2:4; by the elders of Israel, 2Samuel 5:3.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It will be observed from the\r\nabove list that Saul, the man of MAN'S choice, is thus stamped with the number\r\n6. David, the man of God's choice, is stamped with the number seven. For Saul\r\nand David are the sixth and seventh respectively in order. The words, \"a\r\nman after God's own heart,\" means simply a man of God's choice, and not,\r\nas infidels are never tired of asserting, that God approved of all the sins\r\nwhich David fell into.
\r\n
\r\nAt what age did Jesus first appear in public?<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nTwelve years of age was Jesus when He first appears in public (Luke 2:42) and\r\nutters His first recorded words (see number 1).
\r\n
\r\nLegions of Angels<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nTwelve legions of angels mark the perfection of angelic powers (Matthew 26:53).\r\n
\r\n
\r\nAdditional commentary on the Biblical Meaning of 12<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n


\r\nThe number twelve is found 187 times total in the Bible, 22 of which are in the\r\nbook of Revelation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The significance of the number\r\n12 is that it represents divine authority and appointment, as well as governmental\r\nfoundation and perfection, and shows completeness. 12 is also used as a\r\nsignature of Israel. Truth is symbolized by 144, or 12 x 12. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There are 12 divisions of\r\nheaven called the Mazzaroth, which God uses for signs and seasons. The\r\ntestimony of the stars is numerically in harmony with the Bible: \"The\r\nheavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork\"\r\n(Psalms 19:1). <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There were 12 sons of Jacob,\r\nwhose families formed the 12 tribes of Israel with 12 princes; there were also\r\n12 princes of Ishmael.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The high priest\u2019s breastplate,\r\nused for judgment, had 12 stones representing the 12 tribes. The showbread\r\nconsisted of 12 loaves. During the period of the judges, 12 judges judged\r\nIsrael. Solomon appointed 12 officers over Israel.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

At age 12, Jesus appeared at\r\nthe temple. Jesus ordained 12 apostles, who were sent with authority to preach\r\nthe Gospel and to be witnesses of His resurrection. After His resurrection,\r\nJesus told the apostles that He had been given all authority in heaven and earth\r\n\u2014 the divine authority of God.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

During the great tribulation,\r\n12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel are saved, totaling 144,000\r\n(Revelation 7). A second 144,000 are gathered from the earth to serve the Lamb\r\nand follow Him (Revelation 14:1-5). The bride of Christ is pictured with a\r\ncrown of 12 stars (Revelation 12:1).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The New Jerusalem has 12 gates\r\nof pearls, 12 angels at the gates and the names of the 12 tribes of Israel over\r\nthe gates. The wall of the city has 12 foundations of precious stones; in them\r\nare the names of the 12 apostles. The wall is 144 cubits high (12 x 12). The\r\ncity is 12,000 furlongs (1,500 miles) square.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n
