\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Today\u2019s discussion wil run a bit long, but I wanted to finish up\r\nbefore moving on to a new discussion on a different topic.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We won\u2019t simply talk about the name of Jesus, we need to get\r\ninto the concept and principle of actually operating in the name of Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve had this discussion before \u2014 or at\r\nleast part of it \u2014 but what we are talking about is the character, the nature,\r\nthe essence of Who Jesus is, His Onoma!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s start today with some simple statements that Jesus made\r\nthat illustrate this principle.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\r\nis a unique statistic tht appears throughout the Word.\u00a0 <\/span>57 times we have the phrase, \u201cin the name of\r\n(the Lord) (God) (Jesus)\u201d occurring out of a total of 64.\u00a0 <\/span>In Hebrew, the word for \u201cname\u201d is shem.<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0\r\n<\/span>In the Greek text, the word is one which we have discussed more times\r\nthan I can possibly count: \u201conoma.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\neach case, both shem<\/span><\/i><\/b> and onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> have virtually identical\r\nmeanings.\u00a0 <\/span>For shem<\/span><\/i><\/b>, the Hebrew lexicons translate this\r\nto: reputation, fame, glory, position, appellation, honor, authority,\r\ncharacter \u2014 in other words, the essence of who a person is.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For\r\nonoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, we have this from two\r\ndifferent lexicons, Thayer\u2019s being the most prominent: referring to one\u2019s\r\nreputation, being gratified by drawing pleasure from, gaining an advantage from\r\nknowing that person, \u201cthe name is used for everything which the name covers,\r\neverything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by\r\nmentioning, hearing, remembering, i.e., one\u2019s rank, authority, interests,\r\npleasure, command, excellences, deeds, etc.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Pretty\r\nexhaustive, don\u2019t you think?\u00a0 <\/span>Thus, the\r\nname of Jesus is a whole lot more than a simple reference to some unknown\r\nindividual.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Consider\r\nthe way we use names today,\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>casually,\r\nobliquely, in passing, sometimes\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>irreverently.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Letr\u2019s\r\ntake a look at some of the commands that Jesus used with reference to the use\r\nof His name.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Matthew\r\n28:19-20<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the\r\nname of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded\r\nyou: and, lo, I am with you alway, even<\/i> unto the end of the world. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Before\r\nwe move on to the next example, consider just how Jesus expresses this.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201dbaptizing them in<\/u> the name of the Father, and of the\r\nSon, and of the Holy Ghost.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

A\r\nkey word used here is the word, \u201cIN\u201d \u2014 in<\/b> the name, in <\/b>the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b> of the Father, and of the Son, and\r\nof the Holy Ghost.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

One\r\nway we can amplify this from the Greek is to express it like this: immersing\r\nthem into the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nputs a bit of a different color to what Jesus was saying!\u00a0 <\/span>Each time we see this phrase, \u201cin the name of\r\nJesus, or in the name of the Father, etc.,\u201d the Word is actually telling us\r\nthat we must be immersed into the very character, the personality, the authority\r\nand power, the very essence of the Lord Jesus Christ (or Father, or Holy\r\nSpirit).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nchanges things completely!\u00a0 <\/span>This is not\r\nsimply a case of being dunked in a pool, a river, a lake (or whatever) and\r\ncoming up wet from head to toe.\u00a0 <\/span>We are being\r\nimmersed into the all that Jesus is so that we function as His Counterpart, His\r\nOther Self with all of His power and authority, His Love and all that He is\r\nbeing manifested in all that we do.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\ncall to Come Up Higher is a call to this place in Christ Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>We MUST be His Body in the earth.\u00a0 <\/span>Once again, this is not mystical or\r\ntheoretical.\u00a0 <\/span>This is real, it is\r\npractical and it produces tangible results on behalf of the Kingdom of\r\nGod.\u00a0 <\/span>Consider how the apostle Paul\r\ndescribes ur positionally when we are IN Christ Jesus, IN His character, IN His\r\npersonality and makeup.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians\r\n2:4-7<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he\r\nloved us,\u00a0 <\/span>Even when we were dead in\r\nsins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And hath raised us<\/i> up together, and made us<\/i> sit\r\ntogether in heavenly places<\/i> in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he\r\nmight show the exceeding riches of his grace in his<\/i> kindness toward us\r\nthrough Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

A\r\nlittle earlier in his letter to the Ephesians, Paul writes this:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians\r\n1:16-23<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>[ I ] Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in\r\nmy prayers; <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may\r\ngive unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The\r\neyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the\r\nhope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the\r\nsaints<\/u>, <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And what is<\/i> the exceeding greatness of his power to\r\nus-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power<\/span><\/u>, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,\r\nand set him<\/i> at his own right hand in the heavenly places<\/i>, <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,\r\nand every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is\r\nto come: And hath put all things<\/i> under his feet, and gave him to be<\/i>\r\nthe head over all things<\/i> to the church, Which is his body, the fulness\r\nof him that filleth all in all<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nsee it, don\u2019t you?\u00a0 <\/span>\u201c<\/span>What is the hope of His calling<\/span>?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s us!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Then there\u2019s \u201c<\/span>the riches of the\r\nglory of His inheritance in the saints<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\u2019\r\nposition is <\/span>\u201dFar above all\r\nprincipality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named,\r\nnot only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things<\/i>\r\nunder his feet, and gave him to be<\/i> the head over all things<\/i> to\r\nthe church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all<\/span><\/u>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis almost mind-boggling when you put that in its proper perspective.\u00a0 <\/span>We are the Body of Christ!\u00a0 <\/span>He is our Head!\u00a0 <\/span>If He has been seated in Heavenly Places,\r\nthen so have we!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Here\u2019s\r\nthe issue.\u00a0 <\/span>Human nature is to see all of\r\nthis as mystical, theoretical \u2014 not a living, breathing, practical,\r\nexperiential NOW way to live!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s\r\nNOT a theory!\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve been called, we\u2019ve\r\nbeen designed from the very beginning, to live with Jesus Christ in this\r\nrulership dimension!\u00a0 <\/span>Our calling to\r\n\u201cCome up Higher\u201d is the call to set aside and shut down everything in our\r\nnatural minds that wants to treat this as something perhaps \u201cin the sweet bye\r\nand bye.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>It really demands that we\r\nchange the way we think.\u00a0 <\/span>What was it\r\nthat Paul wrote to the Philippians?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Philippians\r\n2:5-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Cause this manner of thinking \u2013 to exercise and discipline your\r\nmind \u2013 in the same way that Jesus did, who, being part of the Godhead, did not\r\nconsider it an inappropriate assumption, even illegal plunder, to be on par\r\nwith Father God, being like Him in every respect,\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation &\r\nAmplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nis a mouthful!\u00a0 <\/span>But, again, that is what\r\nPaul came to understand, and had revelation concerning.\u00a0 <\/span>It is an exercise, a discipline, of the mind\r\nto understand and come to the full realization that we were and are created in\r\nthe image and likeness of God.\u00a0 <\/span>That\r\nbeing the case, we need to exercise and discipline our minds to understand that\r\nwe have been created to function just like Him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nhasten to say that we do not take His place, or supersede the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s what cost Satan his place in Heaven,\r\nhis place of surrounding the Throne with praise and worship and go him thrown\r\nout of Heaven.\u00a0 <\/span>Whether folks realize it\r\nor not, when they decide to take matters into their own hands and ignore the\r\ninstructions or mandate that we have from the Lord, it is no different than\r\nwhat Satan did!\u00a0 <\/span>We do live in an era of\r\nGrace and Mercy, and God is faithful to give us a second chance to repent of\r\nour self-will and the disobedience that generally comes with it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now,\r\ntake a look at something else that Paul wrote, this time to the Ekklesia in\r\nCorinth.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

II\r\nCorinthians 5:17<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>So then, if any person is grafted into and immersed in the\r\nAnointed One (and His anointing), he is a new fabrication -- a newly formed\r\nbeing; the previous life [the lifestyle and the old characteristics thereof]\r\nhas perished; you can see and perceive for yourself that every part of one's\r\nbeing is an unprecedented substance -- a new species.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation &\r\nAmplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nmay be sounding like a broken record by now with my focus on the way we think,\r\nbut this is perhaps the greatest blockade to our moving forward in Christ Jesus\r\nand responding to His call to \u201cCome up Higher.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

II\r\nTimothy 1:7<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>\"<\/span>For God\r\nhas not endowed, or committed to our being and existence the spirit (the very\r\nbreath and speaking forth) of fear, timidity and faithlessness; but of\r\nmiraculous power, might and strength, and of agape<\/i> love, and of a\r\ndisciplined mind (under control and not subject to \"flights of\r\nfancy\").\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\ntake this a different direction for a minute.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We\u2019ve been talking about the exercise of our mind or our wills but John,\r\nin his gospel, makes clear that our ability to \u201cCome up Higher\u201d is predicated\r\non the Will and the Word of God.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John\r\n1:12-13:<\/span><\/u><\/b>But as many as\r\nbelieved in and responded to Him, to them He gave the authority and ability to\r\nbecome \u2013 and be transformed into \u2013 begotten children of God, <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Specifically to those who entrust their future existence and\r\nwell-being by faith in His name, rank, position, character, personality and\r\nbeing; who were begotten, not of flesh and blood, nor because human flesh\r\ndetermined it by its own decision, nor because the mind and intellect of man\r\nseized upon it and willed it into existence, but by God as a sovereign act of\r\nHis Will and determination.<\/span>(RAC Translation & Amplification)<\/span><\/u><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\napostle Paul, therefore, writes the following in his letter to the Ekklesia in\r\nRome.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans\r\n8:5-9a<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the\r\nflesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For to be carnally minded is<\/i> death; but to be spiritually\r\nminded is<\/i> life and peace. Because the carnal mind is<\/i> enmity\r\nagainst God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. <\/span>9<\/span><\/sup>But ye are not in the\r\nflesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Once\r\nagain, why do we have this focus on the mind, and the way we think?\u00a0 <\/span>It is simply because our minds tend to be so\r\nmalleable.\u00a0 <\/span>We allow ourselves to drift\r\nin our thinking and thought processes instead of keeping our minds fixed on the\r\nLord Jesus Christ, the love relationship He has paid such a high prices to\r\nestablish with us, and His call to us to become so much like Him that we become\r\nHis Counterpart and Other Self.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That,\r\nin essence, is what the call to \u201cCome up Higher\u201d is all about!\u00a0 <\/span>This call is about the design and purpose\r\nJesus has established for us to be transformed into His onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>, the very essence of Who He is!\u00a0 <\/span>With that transformation comes the ability to\r\nrule with Him.\u00a0 <\/span>With that transformation\r\ncomes the ability to function exactly as He functioned while He was here on the\r\nearth, but it is even more than that.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Let\u2019s not forget that Jesus made the following promise and covenant with\r\nus.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John\r\n14:12-14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the\r\nworks that I do shall he do also; and greater works<\/i> than these shall\r\nhe do; because I go unto my Father<\/u>. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the\r\nFather may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I\r\nwill do it<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Greater\r\nworks than Jesus did?\u00a0 <\/span>Really?\u00a0 <\/span>Greater works!\u00a0 <\/span>The natural mind just goes tilt <\/i><\/b>when\r\nwe try to imagine what that means.\u00a0 <\/span>But\r\nTHAT is precisely why we have this command from the apostle Paul.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans\r\n12:2-3<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by\r\nthe renewing of your mind<\/u>, that ye may prove what is<\/i> that good, and\r\nacceptable, and perfect, will of God. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is\r\namong you, not to think of himself<\/i> more highly than he ought to think;\r\nbut to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of\r\nfaith. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Lets\r\nsee how this comes out when we amplify the Greek text.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Don\u2019t allow your thinking, your state of mind, to be shaped by\r\nand to come into alignment with the thoughts and ways that this world thinks\r\nand operates: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Instead allow a metamorphosis \u2014 a systematic reshaping of your\r\nminds and mode of thinking \u2014to so transform you that you can test and prove to\r\nyour spirit\u2019s agreement whatever is good, excellent, joyful and beneficial; as\r\nwell as being able to discern that which is well-pleasing to God within the\r\nconfines of your covenant agreement with Him; and, finally, that which is\r\nwell-seasoned, mature and complete when considered next to the will and heart\u2019s\r\ndesire of the Lord<\/span>.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>(Romans 12:2, RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Lord Jesus Christ has empowered me through His Grace to say\r\nto everyone of you, DO NOT become arrogant and self-important in your own\r\nthinking (because of this transformation), or to consider yourself of greater\r\nimportance than your brothers and sisters in the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Rather put a moderate emphasis and estimate upon yourself,\r\ncurbing your own passions and exercising self-control according to the required\r\nstandard and measure of faith given you by God.\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>(Romans\r\n12:3, RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nsee what Paul is sharing here, don\u2019t you?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>He is admonishing us to allow for a Spirit-driven shift to consume the\r\nway, the mode of our thinking so that a real transformation takes place in our\r\nentire makeup.\u00a0 <\/span>That starts with a major\r\nshift in the way we think, what we dwell on, the intensity with which we pursue\r\nour love-relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nnot forget that everything that happens to us, with us, for us, in us and\r\naround us is founded in the agape<\/span><\/i><\/b>\r\nlove of the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>His passion for us\r\nknows no bounds!\u00a0 <\/span>We are all aware of the\r\nfact that it was His love for us that brought Him to earth to live as a normal\r\nhuman.\u00a0 <\/span>It was that same love that sent\r\nHim to die on the cross to reverse the curse that separated us from Him and\r\nfrom Father.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Holy\r\nSpirit was sent by them so that we could be taught everything necessary to grow\r\nup in the onoma <\/span><\/i><\/b>of Jesus, to\r\nbecome His mirror image, His likeness and makeup.\u00a0 <\/span>It was Holy Spirit\u2019s task to lead us\r\nsystematically from one spiritual dimension to another throughout a process of\r\ntime.\u00a0 <\/span>That process, and the length of\r\ntime in each stage was \u2014 and is \u2014 dependent upon our responsiveness and our\r\nobedience to everything He instructs.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nmore easily we respond to the still small voice of Holy Spirit, the greater the\r\ndegree of our pursuit of Him and His desires, the quicker we grow and develop\r\ninto His character and makeup.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Something\r\nI\u2019ve discovered throughout the years is that the Lord often seeks out\r\nchildren.\u00a0 <\/span>He looks for the younger\r\ngeneration simply because they have not been conditioned and pre-programmed by\r\nsociety to think the way the world thinks.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Jesus made this clear when He said to the disciples:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Matthew\r\n18:3-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the\r\nmidst of them,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and\r\nbecome as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,\r\nthe same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name\r\nreceiveth me.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in\r\nme, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that<\/i>\r\nhe were drowned in the depth of the sea.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nmakes is about as clear as anything Jesus ever said!\u00a0 <\/span>Children are not programmed wityh society\u2019s\r\nfear, doubt, unbelief, and the falsehoods that accompany them.\u00a0 <\/span>Children see things in a clear, uncolored\r\nway.\u00a0 <\/span>As a consequence, they have no\r\nproblem receiving the truths of the Gospel.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>When you explain Jesus and Salvation to them, they have no problem\r\naccepting.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nneed to tell you a rather humorous story from my early years.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nwere living in Nome, Alaska at the time.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It was winter and we had experienced a monumental snow storm that\r\ncreated drifts around our church building and residence that were easily 20\r\nfeet deep, and in some places, the snow reached the top of the building.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nwas perhaps five or six years old at the time.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>My brother and I decided to dig some rooms into the snow bank.\u00a0 <\/span>This one in particular featured a nice\r\ndoorway, a window where we could put a candle for some light, and we even\r\nbuilt, or rather carved, a bench out of the very packed snow.\u00a0 <\/span>What we had was our own little church.\u00a0 <\/span>We invited our friends (who were mostly our\r\nage) to come to our \u201cchurch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

My\r\nbrother led the singing (he was 19 months younger than me) and I did the\r\npreaching.\u00a0 <\/span>I preached about Jesus, and I\r\nshared the message of Salvation.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(\r\nI remind you that this was during the roughly three-and-a-half years that I was\r\nhaving regular visitations from angels.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>When these experiences began, my mother realized that the Lord was doing\r\nsomething really out of the ordinary with me, and she took time to teach me how\r\nto read by reading the Bible.\u00a0 <\/span>By this\r\ntime, I had probably been through the Bible as much as a half-dozen times.\u00a0 <\/span>I knew the message of Salvation like the back\r\nof my hand.)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nI finished my message, there was nothing to do but give an altar call.\u00a0 <\/span>Each of our young friends knelt down at the\r\nsnow altar and accepted Jesus Christ.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>When we finished, I informed them that they needed to be baptized in\r\nwater.\u00a0 <\/span>Obviously, that wasn\u2019t happening\r\nwith all that snow on the ground so I told them that when Spring came and we\r\nhad some ponds that were deep enough, we could baptize them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nwas probably April or May that the Spring runoff was in full evidence.\u00a0 <\/span>When our friends came by the house one day, I\r\nsuggested that this was a good time to baptize them.\u00a0 <\/span>We found a mud puddle that was deep enough to\r\nimmerse them and baptized them.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Obviously they had to run home and get into some dry clothing.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nsimple and uncomplicated way that these children accepted Jesus Christ, and\r\nthen followed it up in baptism is a perfect example of what Jesus was\r\ndescribing.\u00a0 <\/span>THAT is exactly how we need\r\nto be ready to respond to the call to \u201cCome up Higher!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That simplicity is what the Lord is looking\r\nfor as a response in us!\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Got the\r\nmessage?<\/span><\/p>\r\n
