\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Bill and Gloria Gaither have written a song that the Gaither\r\nVocal Band has released on their latest CD, titled, \u201c<\/span><\/b>Praise God, I\u2019m a Child of the King.\u201d<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>The second line to the\r\nsong is, <\/span><\/b>\u201cAnd His royal blood now\r\nflows in my veins.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\u2019s a revelation that seems to escape most of us.\u00a0 <\/span>The truth of that phrase is that it is the\r\nvery life blood of the Lord that flows in us, and with that life blood comes\r\nthe very character, nature and essence of Who He is.\u00a0 <\/span>With that essence comes a level of\r\ninheritance in Heaven that incorporates the authority and power.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The problem is that we stop waaayyy short of what is available\r\nto us in Christ Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span>Many Christians\r\nsee this as a realm that is only for the \u201csuper spiritual.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s a lie of the Enemy!\u00a0 <\/span>It is nothing more and nothing less than\r\naccepting the idea that you are either not worthy, or not good enough to move\r\ninto those realms.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

What was it that Jesus said?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John\r\n14:1`2-14:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the\r\nworks that I do shall he do also; and greater works<\/i> than these shall he\r\ndo; because I go unto my Father. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\r\nAnd whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the\r\nFather may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I\r\nwill do it<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

How\r\nabout what Paul wrote to the body of Christ?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nCorinthians 2:9-12:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither\r\nhave entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them\r\nthat love him. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But God hath revealed them<\/i> unto us by his Spirit: for the\r\nSpirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth\r\nthe things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things\r\nof God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the\r\nspirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to\r\nus of God.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Isaiah\r\nprophesied it like this:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Isaiah\r\n64:4-5a:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>For since the beginning of the world men<\/i> have not heard,\r\nnor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what<\/i>\r\nhe hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those\r\nthat<\/i> remember thee in thy ways:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nback up for a few minutes and break these statements down.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

First\r\nof all, Jesus is stating that we will do all the works that He did while He was\r\nhere in person.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s see, that includes\r\nhealing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead, bringing people into an\r\nunderstanding of a real relationship with Him \u2014 in other words, absolutely\r\neverything that the Greek word, soter<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span>or soterion<\/span><\/i><\/b>, <\/span>means.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>That is the all-encompassing word that covers every single aspect of\r\nsalvation \u2014 body, soul, spirit!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Next,\r\nHe says that we will do GREATER works than He did.\u00a0 <\/span>The rational mind just goes \u201dtilt<\/i>\u201d at\r\nthe concept.\u00a0 <\/span>So, what does the Greek\r\ntext use to describe \u201cgreater?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\nuses the word, meizon<\/span><\/i><\/b>, for greater, larger, elder (more mature), stronger<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 <\/span>But meizon<\/span><\/i><\/b>\r\ncomes from its root, megas<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\r\nwhich amplifies the application many times over.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nsee if we can list just some of the uses of this word to describe what Jesus is\r\nsaying to us concerning the works that we will do:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

1.<\/span>\u00a0great:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>(a) of the external form or sensible\r\nappearance of things;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

(b)\r\nin particular, of space and its dimenstons as respects<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>(a1) mass and weight: great<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>(a2) compass and extent: large, spacious<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>(a3) measure and height: long<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>(a4) stature and age: great, old<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

2.\r\nof number and quantity: numerous, large, abundant<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

3.\r\nused of intensity and degrees: with great effort, of the affections and\r\nemotions of the mind, of natural events powerfully affecting the senses,\r\nviolent, mighty, strong<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

4.\r\nsplendid, prepared on a grand scale, stately<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

5.\r\ngreat things \u2014 of God\u2019s preeminent blessings<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

THAT\r\njust scratches the surface!\u00a0 <\/span>Thayer\u2019s\r\nGreek Lexicon goes into much more detail, but I thought that excerpt was more\r\nthan sufficient to draw a good picture for you.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\ntakes us next to what Paul wrote to the Ekklesia in Corinth.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve amplified it for clarification.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But as it is written, natural eye has not seen, nor has the ear\r\nof flesh heard, neither has it begun to be conceived by the unredeemed, natural\r\nmind, those things that God has made ready to reveal to those that love Him,\r\n[those who are in Christ, and in whom He dwells].<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But God has unveiled and revealed themto us by His Spirit; for\r\nthe Spirit pursues, digs out and prepares to reveal to us the profound depths\r\nof the nature, the character and purposes of God which have been hidden away\r\nfrom us [for an appointed time in the development of our character in Him]<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

(I Corinthians 2:9-10, RAC Translation and\r\nAmplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\u2019s\r\npretty clear, don\u2019t you think?\u00a0 <\/span>For those\r\nwhose spirits remain open and sensitive to the voice of the Spirit, the\r\nrevelation of what God has in store is available to us.\u00a0 <\/span>The greater the degree of our spiritual\r\nsensitivity, the greater the degree of revelation Holy Spirit will show.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, if you want to be honest about it,\r\nHoly Spirit can hardly wait to show us what God wants to do in us, and where He\r\nwants to take us!\u00a0 <\/span>THIS IS the \u201cCome Up\r\nHigher\u201d call from the Lord to us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Why\r\ndo you think He wants to show us these things?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Because we\u2019ve been created in His image and likeness!\u00a0 <\/span>Because we\u2019ve been created in the first place\r\nto function like Him.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nthe Angel of the Lord transported me to the end of time, and I saw the new\r\nheavens and the new earth, I realized that there are vast dimensions that\r\nawait.\u00a0 <\/span>Try this one on for size!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare going to generate entirely new worlds throughout the universe \u2014 worlds that\r\nare populated with an ever-increasing family for the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>We will populate these worlds with people who\r\ndo not know the depths of sin, people who have not been exposed to the wiles of\r\nSatan, people who grow up only knowing a family relationship with the\r\nLord.\u00a0 <\/span>For all practical purposes, we\r\nwill be seated as co-rulers with Jesus Christ.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>I know that seems almost inconceivable, but let me prepare your mind and\r\nspirit this way.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare getting ready before very long to enter a thousand-year period of ruling\r\nand reigning with Christ HERE ON EARTH!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>That, family, is nothing more than a warm-up for the future!\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s a thousand years of practice in\r\npreparation for what follows.\u00a0 <\/span>At the end\r\nof that thousand years, Satan, who has been bound in the bottomless pit, will\r\nbe released, along with his hosts to create war on God\u2019s people and attempt to\r\nperpetrate every conceivable deception and trickery to tear down what God\u2019s\r\npeople have accomplished.\u00a0 <\/span>More than\r\nthat, this is a testing time for those who have come to know Jesus Christ\r\nduring that thousand years but have never had to overcome Satan.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nnot forget that Jesus is only after a company of people who have <\/span>\u201covercome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of their\r\ntestimony.\u201d<\/span>Jesus was the pattern overcomer.\u00a0 <\/span>He set that pattern for us to follow.\u00a0 <\/span>He doesn\u2019t expect us to be crucified on a\r\ncross (although some people have been crucified, even in modern years), but\r\nJesus overcame every kind of persecution and suffering that a human can\r\nexperience.\u00a0 <\/span>Many of us will either\r\nsuffer (or have already) threats of death or even attempts on our lives.\u00a0 <\/span>We must, likewise, overcome whatever opposes\r\nand exalts itself against the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nthere is any hindrance to our coming up higher in response to the call of the\r\nLord, it would be doubt, fear or unbelief.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We have no excuse for any of these hindrances.\u00a0 <\/span>Stop and consider some of what Jesus\r\nsaid.\u00a0 <\/span>When He was talking to the\r\ndisciples.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Mark\r\n11:22-24<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this\r\nmountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt\r\nin his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to\r\npass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye\r\npray, believe that ye receive them<\/i>, and ye shall have them<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now\r\nthere\u2019s a mouthful!\u00a0 <\/span>While see no\r\nevidence in Scripture that Jesus ever spoke to mountains and commanded them to\r\nmove, He made it abundantly clear that we can, if we act in faith.\u00a0 <\/span>And what is faith?\u00a0 <\/span>Nothing more than the generating that takes\r\nplace in our spirits when we hear Holy Spirit speak to us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s\r\nno different when we command hurricanes, tornadoes, major storms, etc., to move\r\nor to cease altogether.\u00a0 <\/span>Della and I have\r\nexperienced this on numerous occasions, and I know that some of you have as\r\nwell.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\u2019s\r\nthat quickening that takes place in your innermost being, and you absolutely\r\nKNOW that you can do so, and the storms have to obey!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\u2019m\r\nsure it was no different for Moses when he spoke to the Red Sea, and the waters\r\nparted so that the children of Israel could cross over in the face of Pharaoh\u2019s\r\nadvancing armies.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

How\r\nabout Elisha taking Elijah\u2019s mantle and striking the Jordan River, creating a\r\npath for him and the company of prophets who were with him to cross over on dry\r\nground?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then\r\nthere was the episode when the captain of the host of Syria, Naaman, heard\r\nthere was healing for him and his leprosy in Israel.\u00a0 <\/span>Through a series of events, Naaman was led to\r\nElisha.\u00a0 <\/span>Elisha instructed him to go and\r\nwash in the Jordan River, dipping himself into the mucky waters seven times.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Naaman\r\nwas insulted!\u00a0 <\/span>He figured there was no\r\nreason why he couldn\u2019t dip in either the Abana River, or the Pharpar since they\r\nwere nice clean rivers.\u00a0 <\/span>It was his\r\nservants who convinced him that he had nothing to lose by dipping in the Jordan\r\nriver.\u00a0 <\/span>It wasn\u2019t logical by natural\r\nreasoning, but Naaman managed to shut down his emotions and obey Elisha\u2019s\r\ninstruction.\u00a0 <\/span>Six times he dipped and six\r\ntimes he came up still covered in leprosy.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>No matter what his misgivings were, he went ahead and obeyed the seventh\r\ntime.\u00a0 <\/span>He came up out of the river\r\nabsolutely free of the leprosy that had threatedned his life.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

One\r\nof the things that is part and parcel of coming up higher is the ability to set\r\naside natural reasoning.\u00a0 <\/span>There is no\r\nlogical thinking that makes any sense with some of the things that we are\r\ncommanded or instructed to do by the Lord.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It made no logical sense for Della and I to walk out the door of our\r\nhome in Mission, Texas in 2005 and speak to the Cat 3 hurricane, Rita, that was\r\nheaded straight toward us and command it to veer south into the mostly\r\nuninhabited mountans of northern Mexico.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>But that\u2019s exactly what we did, knowing that the hurricane had to obey,\r\nand indeed Rita suddenly veered south causing great puzzlement among the\r\nweather forecasters.\u00a0 <\/span>We wound up\r\naddressing three separate hurricanes while we lived there.\u00a0 <\/span>Only one of them did any damage to the Rio\r\nGrande Valley, that damage was minimal, considering that it had been projected\r\nto be a Cat 4 when it came ashore around South Padre Island and Brownsville.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Della\r\nand I had lots of these kinds of experiences, and it was exciting to see what\r\nwas available for us with the power of God operational in us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

With\r\nall that we have seen and experienced in God, the following two events were\r\nindicators that we had barely scratched the surface of what awaits.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nwas about three weeks ago that I suffered three successive nights where I awoke\r\naround 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning and just couldn\u2019t get back to sleep.\u00a0 <\/span>It finally dawned on me that maybe, JUST\r\nMAYBE, the Lord was trying to get my attention!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>(Grin!)\u00a0 <\/span>Finally, I said, \u201cLord\r\nare you trying to say something to me that I\u2019m not hearing? \u00a0<\/span>Are you trying to show me something that has\r\nescaped me?\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\ngot up from the bed and came downstairs and sat up in the recliner chair.\u00a0 <\/span>When I quieted myself and my spirit, I heard\r\nto Lord speak clearly and audibly, \u201cCome up higher!\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\nflashed before my spirit was a dimension of living in the Spirit that I had\r\nseen rather vaguely before but just hadn\u2019t sought after.\u00a0 <\/span>I got the message!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nfollowing week, the same thing happened.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>After the second night of restlessness, I came downstairs again and just\r\nsat meditating on the Word.\u00a0 <\/span>Again, I\r\nheard that distinct sound of the voice of the Lord speaking and saying to me, \u201cCome\r\nup higher!\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ever\r\nsince then, I\u2019ve been waiting on the Lord, meditating on the Word, and just\r\ntrying to be quiet in His presence, awaiting the revelation of what my eye\r\nhadn\u2019t seen, or my ear hadn\u2019t heard, knowing that I was being prepped for a\r\nwhole new realm of walking with the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\u2019s\r\nwhere we will take this discussion next week.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
