ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK; SUPERNATURAL MATURITY, Part 17<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

We may run long today as we attempt to wrap up this series, so\r\nlet's see what kind of progress we can make in today's sharing.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Here\r\nagain is the amplified and re-translated portion of this passage from Matthew\r\n5:14-16:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

[When I said, \u201cLight be,\u201d that was the light that brought this\r\nworld into being. I AM that light.] (Because you are in me, and I AM in you,\r\nyou are \u2014 likewise \u2014 the light of this world. That is a light one cannot hide.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

[As representatives of the New Jerusalem] you are like that City\r\nwhich is elevated on a high hill or mountain and cannot be hidden from view.\r\n(You have been made and destined to be visible to this world.)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(Matthew 5:14, RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

No one lights a candle, and then hides it under some kind of\r\ncovering or utensil. Rather, they put the candle on some kind of lampstand<\/span> or decorative piece in order to elevate it so as\r\nto give light to the whole room.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let that light (My light) which is in you, therefore, radiate\r\nbrilliantly in front of all men and women so that the value of your\r\nrelationship with and in Me \u2014 manifested in the works, the signs and wonders \u2014\r\nis demonstrated. That, in turn, will cause Father in Heaven to receive glory\r\nand honor and praise!<\/span>(Matthew\r\n5:15-16, RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cI must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nother words,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cI have to do those things that Father sent me to do while the\r\ntime of revelation is still available to those whose spirits and mind are open\r\nto see and understand the revelation.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(John 9:4, RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then\r\nHe follows it by saying this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cA time is coming when My Spirit will no longer be here and\r\navailable to bring revelation and understanding to those who are spiritually\r\nblind; and when that takes place no one will be able to share truths in such a\r\nway that those outside My Kingdom will be able to receive and respond.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cAs long as I am present in the world (whether in person or in\r\nmy onoma<\/span>) \u2014 by and with My Spirit moving through you\r\n\u2014 the light and life and revelation of all that I am continues to be\r\navailable.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>(John 9:4-5, RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Take\r\nanother look at what we\u2019ve just heard and seen Jesus say:<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nlooked at this verse in the first part of this discussion on salt and light,\r\nand here it is again:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm\r\n115:16<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0<\/span>The Heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord\u2019s: but the earth hath\r\nHe given to the children of men.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now,\r\nlet\u2019s put that in the context of Isaiah\u2019s prophecy \u2014 and this is what Jesus was\r\ngetting at:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Isaiah\r\n60:1-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0<\/span>Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD\r\nis risen upon thee.\u00a0For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and\r\ngross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory\r\nshall be seen upon thee.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the\r\nbrightness of thy rising.\u00a0Lift up thine<\/span> eyes\r\nround about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee:\r\nthy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at\u00a0thy<\/i>\u00a0side.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then thou shalt<\/span> see, and flow\r\ntogether, and thine<\/span> heart shall fear, and be\r\nenlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the\r\nforces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian<\/span> and Ephah<\/span>; all they from\r\nSheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth\r\nthe praises of the LORD.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nprophecy deserves some serious amplification, and we\u2019ll have to expand on that\r\na bit later, but here\u2019s the picture.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare IN CHRIST! He is IN US! If Jesus is the Light of the World, then so are we!\r\nAnd that places a signal responsibility upon each of us.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Isaiah\u2019s\r\nprophecy spells it out when he says that our sons and daughters will come from\r\nafar, that we will be able to see and be literally awestricken because of the\r\nabundance of people who will be converted as a result of our light shining. The\r\nmetaphors that Isaiah uses are spectacular when he speaks of the forces of the\r\nGentiles (nations), the multitude of camels, the dromedaries of Midian<\/span> and Ephah<\/span>, along with all\r\nthose from Sheba bringing gold and incense as they display the praises of the\r\nLord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

THAT,\r\nfolks, is a description of our commission as the \u201cLight of the World.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\u2019s\r\na whole lot in those metaphors, and we\u2019ll get to them as we continue this\r\ndiscussion. We haven\u2019t even started yet with the part where Jesus talks about\r\nnot putting a candle under a bushel, but rather using a candlestick (the Greek\r\ntext uses a word \u2014\u00a0<\/span>luchnia<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0\u2014 to describe a\r\nportable or moveable lampstand<\/span> or source of light.)\r\nThere\u2019s another metaphor for you. We\u2019ll get there as we move forward with this\r\nstudy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nknow you're looking at me cross-eyed, wondering where this is going, but bear\r\nwith me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nwant to come back to Isaiah\u2019s prophecy regarding the Glory of the Lord being\r\nrevealed, but first we need to take a look at a command that occurs four times\r\nin the New Testament.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

John\r\n12: 35-36<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with\r\nyou.\u00a0Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you<\/u>: for\r\nhe that walketh<\/span> in darkness knoweth<\/span>\r\nnot whither he goeth<\/span>.\u00a0While ye have light,\r\nbelieve in the light, that ye may be the children of light<\/u>. These things spake<\/span> Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Before\r\nwe continue on, let\u2019s make sure that we are all on the same page with regard to\r\nwhat Jesus is making reference to.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nHe refers to us as \u201cthe children of light\u201d He uses the word\u00a0<\/span>huios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0\u2014 fully matured, grown into that\r\nplace of understanding and obedience to what Father says, and what Father does.\r\nBut there\u2019s more than that to it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\u2019re\r\nnot just commanded to be huios<\/span>, we are commanded to\r\nbe the\u00a0<\/span>huios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0of light \u2014 and\r\nthat\u2019s where the rubber meets the road. The \u201clight\u201d to which He makes reference\r\nis the revelation of Who He is. It is the revelation of ALL that is encompassed\r\nin the nature, the character, the personality of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

With\r\nthat revelation comes the revelation of the power and authority that reside in\r\nour tongue. Let\u2019s not forget that when Jesus spoke, and the Word came forth\r\nfrom His tongue,\u00a0Light Be!<\/span><\/b>, all\r\nCreation came into being!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nJesus speaks, light comes forth. When Jesus speaks, demons flee. When Jesus\r\nspeaks, restoration takes place. When Jesus speaks, healing takes place. When\r\nJesus speaks, storms obey. When Jesus speaks, death vanishes and life returns!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

David\r\nunderstood what happens when Jesus speaks:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm\r\n119:130<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0<\/span>The entrance of thy words giveth<\/span>\r\nlight; it giveth<\/span> understanding unto the simple.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword,\u00a0<\/span>understanding<\/span>, in David\u2019s statement comes from the Hebrew,\u00a0<\/span>biyn<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, which means in part:\u00a0<\/span>perception, discernment,\r\nrevelation, skill, cunning<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\u2019re\r\ngetting the picture, I\u2019m sure.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword,\u00a0simple<\/span><\/b>, in that same\r\nstatement draws a picture from the Hebrew of one who is devoid of\r\nunderstanding, one who lacks wisdom, one who is unlearned, one who can be\r\ndeceived, one who is gullible and can be seduced.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thus,\r\nthe entrance (the Hebrew word is\u00a0<\/span>pethach<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>, which means:\u00a0<\/span>disclosure,\r\nan opening<\/span>)\r\nof the Word changes the nature of an individual from one who is foolish, lacks\r\nany wisdom, and is subject to deception. It transforms the once-ignorant,\r\nnon-understanding individual into one who sees and understands the revelation\r\nby the Spirit of God.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Writing\r\nto the Ekklesia<\/span> in Thessalonica, Paul speaks of the\r\ncoming of the Day of the Lord. He makes it clear that those who are not\u00a0<\/span>\u201cthe\r\nchildren of light\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>will not see that day\r\ncoming, that they will listen to the messages of\u00a0<\/span>\u201cpeace\r\nand safety\u201d\u00a0<\/span>and\r\nbe ignorant of the destruction that will take them totally off guard.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Again,\r\nthe phrase\u00a0<\/span>\u201cthe children of light\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>speaks to the\u00a0<\/span>huios<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span>\u00a0of light \u2014 the fully mature,\r\nfully perceiving sons who see and hear by the Spirit of God, and have the\r\nnecessary revelation to deal with things that the world can neither understand\r\nnor cope with.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Writing\r\nto the Ekklesia<\/span> in Ephesus, Paul takes a slightly\r\ndifferent approach when he refers to us as\u00a0\u201cthe\r\nchildren of light.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians\r\n5:6-10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0<\/span>Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these\r\nthings cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.\u00a0Be not ye<\/span> therefore partakers with them.\u00a0For ye were\r\nsometimes darkness, but now\u00a0are ye<\/i>\u00a0light in the Lord: walk as\r\nchildren of light:\u00a0(For the fruit of the Spirit\u00a0is<\/i>\u00a0in all\r\ngoodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the\r\nLord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\namplify this out of the Greek to make it even clearer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let no one cheat you or hoodwink you with empty, non-productive\r\nwords, destitute of faith and visible demonstration of truth: it is because of\r\nthis kind of\u00a0 charlatanism that God\u2019s abhorrence and passionate\r\nindignation are visited upon those whose unbelief has reached full maturation.\r\nAccordingly, have no fellowship with them, nor be a co-participant in their\r\nefforts and communications.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In time past, you suffered from the darkness of ignorance,\r\n[lacking revelation by and through the Spirit of Truth] but have since become\r\nenlightened, radiating the light (of the Lord Jesus Christ): Walk, therefore,\r\nas sons continually in the process of receiving more and greater revelation [by\r\nthe Spirit of \u00a0Truth].<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For the visible demonstration and manifestation of Holy Spirit\r\nis in the uprightness of your walk and speech, along with your integrity, the\r\nway you think, and the manner in which you hold to the truth; testing,\r\nexamining and proving (in the midst of the crucible) in a practical dimension,\r\nthat which pleases the very heart of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0<\/span>(Ephesians 5:6-10,\r\nRAC Translation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Paul\u2019s\r\nclarification of the manifestation of the light of the Lord shining forth from\r\nus gives us a clue as to how that light begins to increase.\u00a0 David\r\nunderstood this principle and stated it as clearly as anyone could possibly put\r\nit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm\r\n119:105<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm\r\n119:130<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The entrance of Thy Word giveth<\/span> light;\r\nit giveth<\/span> understanding unto the simple.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Psalm\r\n43:3<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them\r\nbring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Are\r\nyou seeing the picture? It can\u2019t be any clearer. It is the entrance \u2014 the open\r\ndoor, the gateway into our spirit and soul \u2014 of revelation (by and through Holy\r\nSpirit) of the Word, the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>rhema<\/span><\/i><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>that generates His\r\nlight, His character, His nature, His makeup within us. It is the transforming\r\nnature of His Word that changes us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nlights us up!<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nbrings us back to the creative authority and power that is part and parcel of\r\nJesus\u2019 nature and makeup. We\u2019ve already talked about this, but let\u2019s not forget\r\nthat when Jesus spoke the Word,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cLight BE!,\u201c<\/span>\u00a0all of creation\r\ncame into being.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Job\r\nhad the revelation and expressed it like this:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Job\r\n22:28<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Thou shalt<\/span> also decree a thing, and it\r\nshall be established unto thee:\u00a0and the light shall shine upon thy ways<\/u>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nstill there is more to go in this discussion. I thought maybe I could wrap this\r\nup today, but there's just too much to share, so let's leave it here for today\r\nand come back to it next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
