Part 5<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I want to focus on the fifth of these Seven Spirits of God:\r\nThe\u00a0 <\/span>Spirit of Grace and Supplications.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0The Hebrew word, <\/span><\/b>chen<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\r\n(pronounced, khane) which is derived from <\/span><\/b>chanan<\/span><\/i><\/b>, is\r\nboth \"grace,\" and \"supplications.\"\u00a0 <\/span>It represents: <\/span><\/b>grace,\r\ngraciousness, to have mercy upon, to make entreaty or supplication on behalf of<\/span><\/u><\/b>.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis easy to see this facet of the onoma<\/span><\/i><\/b>of\r\nJesus Christ. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hebrews 7:25:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>\"Wherefore\r\nHe is able to save, heal, deliver, and make whole all those who approach unto\r\nGod through and by Him, always living to intercede for them.\" <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

To\r\nthis we add Paul's statement in Ephesians.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians 2:8<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>\"For by\r\ngrace you are saved, healed, delivered and made whole through faith; and this\r\nis not of yourselves; this [both grace and faith] is the gift of\r\nGod.\"\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC translation\r\n& Amplification)<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0This\r\nis perhaps the best known aspect of agape<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>It is\r\nalso one of the most preached aspects of Jesus' character and makeup.\u00a0 <\/span>Were it not for His grace, none of us would\r\nbe having this discussion.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\ngenerally think of grace as \"unmerited favor.\"\u00a0 <\/span>To some extent this is true, although grace\r\ngoes far beyond the simple extension of His favor to an unworthy people.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications was at work even before the foundations of\r\nthe earth were set in place. The Bridegroom well knew that the large majority\r\nof the human race, though given the opportunity to choose and enter into an\r\nintimate relationship with Him, would for the most part reject His wooing and\r\nbeckoning.\u00a0 <\/span>Yet He prepared a plan which\r\nwould execute His grace to provide an opportunity for their deliverance from\r\nthe Serpent.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications was at work even before Adam and Eve exited\r\nthe Garden, preparing the path, and setting in place the necessary foundations\r\nfor the redemption of their seed.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Again,\r\nit is important that we remember that The Spirit of Grace and Supplications\r\nworks toward the fulfillment of the Plan of the Godhead, ordained,\r\norchestrated, and set in motion before time began.\u00a0 <\/span>There is nothing sloppy about the mercy of\r\nHis grace.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis precise, and yet encompassing.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Everything which unfolds in the development of our lives and our\r\nrelationship with Jesus Christ has been planned and ordained so that He can\r\nreceive His purchased inheritance -- a Bride who in every respect fulfills His.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Two\r\nwords occur in the Greek text of the New Testament to translate out \u201cgrace\u201d and\r\n\u201csupplications.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword, grace, is universally translated from charis<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>If there ever was a word misunderstood or\r\nmisapplied, this is it!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thayer\u2019s\r\nGreek-English Lexicon defines this word like this: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(1)<\/span>\u00a0that\r\nwhich affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness; <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(2)<\/span>\u00a0good-will,\r\nlovingkindness, favor; <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(3)<\/span>\u00a0the\r\nact of favoring; <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(4)<\/span>\u00a0the\r\nact of kindness of a master towards his inferiors or servants; <\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(5)charis<\/span>is used of the\r\nmerciful kindness by which God the Father, exerting His holy influence upon\r\nsouls, turns them to The Anointed One and His Anointing, keeps, strengthens,\r\nincreases them in faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise\r\nof spiritual virtues.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

While\r\nthe concept of \u201cunmerited favor\u201d certainly is incorporated in this definition\r\nof charis<\/span><\/i>,\r\n<\/span><\/b>that description oversimplifies what Jesus Christ gives to us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nsame is true of the word, \u201csupplications.\u201d\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Here, the word in the Greek text is deomai<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This word is one which comes out of the\r\nconcept of \u201cCovenant.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Deomai<\/span><\/i><\/b> literally means:\r\nto bind oneself to; to present a petition.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It comes from the root word, deo<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\r\nand it means: to be in a bond with, to knit\r\ntogether, to tie, to bind.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This,\r\nfolks, is exactly how the Spirit of Grace and Supplications works.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nspirit binds itself to us.\u00a0 <\/span>It exercises\r\nthe grace and graciousness of the Father towards us.\u00a0 <\/span>It woos us.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It draws us.\u00a0 <\/span>It makes entreaty\r\nfor us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

With\r\ncompassion, this Spirit of Grace and Supplications acts on the behalf of the\r\nLord Jesus Christ to bring us to the place of repentance, acceptance and\r\nacknowledge-ment of Jesus as our Lord and Savior.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\nthis Spirit is acting on behalf of the Lord, its primary function is to prepare\r\nus as a worthy Bride for our Bridegroom, creating in us and with us that which\r\naffords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, and loveliness to God.\u00a0 <\/span>It is the act of our Master towards us \u2013 who\r\nfirst come as undeserving servants \u2013 to bring us to Sonship.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications turns people towards Jesus Christ, the\r\nAnointed One \u2013 and His Anointing \u2013 so that there can be a \u201cfull house,\u201d a\r\ncompleted family who is like the Lord in every respect.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis part of the fulfillment of the Covenant that God made with Abraham.\u00a0 <\/span>We are being transformed into \u201cfriends of\r\nGod.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare having God\u2019s Covenant with Abraham extended towards us in order that we\r\nmight become heirs, joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, and recipients of that same\r\nCovenant through faith.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Paul\r\nputs it like this:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Galatians 3:6-15<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>Even as Abraham\r\nbelieved God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the\r\nchildren of Abraham. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen\r\nthrough faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying<\/i>, In thee\r\nshall all nations be blessed. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful\r\nAbraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it\r\nis written, Cursed is<\/i> every one that continueth not in all things which\r\nare written in the book of the law to do them. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it\r\nis<\/i> evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith:\r\nbut, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from\r\nthe curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is<\/i>\r\nevery one that hangeth on a tree: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through\r\nJesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

And\r\nit is the Spirit of Grace and Supplications which works in us with and because\r\nof this covenant in order to ensure that we are recipients of it.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nconsider some Scriptures we\u2019ve all heard many times and some likely memorized.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians 2:5-10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>Even\r\nwhen we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye\r\nare saved;)\u00a0 <\/span>And hath raised us<\/i> up\r\ntogether, and made us<\/i> sit together in heavenly places<\/i> in Christ\r\nJesus:\u00a0 <\/span>That in the ages to come he might\r\nshow the exceeding riches of his grace in his<\/i> kindness toward us through\r\nChrist Jesus.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of\r\nyourselves: it is<\/i> the gift of God:\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Not of works, lest any man should boast.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,\r\nwhich God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now,\r\nlet\u2019s back up one chapter in Ephesians and look at a different aspect of the\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians 1:3-8<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>Blessed\r\nbe<\/i> the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with\r\nall spiritual blessings in heavenly places<\/i> in Christ:\u00a0 <\/span>According as he hath chosen us in him before\r\nthe foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before\r\nhim in love:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus\r\nChrist to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,\u00a0 <\/span>To the praise of the glory of his grace,\r\nwherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.\u00a0 <\/span>In whom we have redemption through his blood,\r\nthe forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Are\r\nyou beginning to see something here?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis by the Spirit of Grace and Supplications that we have been chosen<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nis the purpose of this particular Spirit<\/span><\/u> of God to show us just how rich this grace\r\nis that we have received, and to demonstrate the <\/u>kheseed<\/span><\/i><\/b> of the Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace releases faith<\/span><\/u> to us as a gift in order that we can\r\nreceive sozo<\/span><\/i><\/b> (healing,\r\ndeliverance, salvation, safety, protection, health, wholeness and prosperity).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Salvation\r\ncomes to us by and through the Spirit of Grace and Supplications<\/span><\/u>.\u00a0 <\/span>It is by and through the drawing of this\r\nSpirit that we are even able to receive Salvation from sin.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nhave been made to sit in the Heavenlies in Christ Jesus by and through the\r\nSpirit of Grace<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians\r\n1:3 begins with the statement that the <\/span>\u201cFather of our Lord\r\nJesus Christ hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nword \u201cblessed\u201d and \u201cblessings\u201d comes from the Greek eulogeo<\/span><\/i><\/b>, which is very like the concept of\r\n\u201csupplications\u201d as it occurs in Zechariah 12:10.\u00a0 <\/span>It means: to\r\nspeak over, to declare the Word of the Covenant, to command to prosper.<\/u><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nOT Hebrew word translated \u201csupplications\u201d istachanun<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\r\nwhich comes from the root: chanan<\/span><\/i><\/b>,\r\nwhich means: to bless, to bestow favor, to\r\nspeak prosperity<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

With\r\nthe prefix, tach<\/span><\/i><\/b>, added, the\r\nword now becomes a request for release of that covenant favor and blessing.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thus\r\nthe Spirit of Grace not only blesses and releases blessing and favor, but looks\r\nto His companion Spirits of God for release of all they have ready to give.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\nthe Spirit of Grace and Supplications was at work during the whole act of\r\nCreation, He was involved in the selection and ordaining that we should be\r\nplaced as full-grown, mature and commissioned sons of God alongside the Lord\r\nJesus Christ as His heirs and joint-heirs.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword translated \u201cadoption\u201d in the KJV is taken from the Greek: huiothesia<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>This is the word which denotes the giving and\r\ngranting of equal status as trusted \u201csons\u201d legally.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\u2019ve\r\nalready discussed this in the past, but the word huios<\/span><\/i><\/b>\r\nis distinguished from teknon<\/span><\/i><\/b> \u2013\r\nalso translated as \u201cson\u201d and nepios<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

A\r\nteknon<\/span><\/i><\/b> is any son between the\r\nage of 12 and 30 who is yet (as Paul describes in Galatians) under tutors and\r\ngovernors \u201cuntil the time appointed of the father.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

A\r\nnepios<\/span><\/i><\/b> is a child under the\r\nage of 12 who has no recognized voice of experience or authority to speak, and\r\nis therefore regarded as \u201cnot speaking.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Huios<\/span><\/i><\/b>, on the other\r\nhand, designates one who has reached the \u201ctime appointed of the father\u201d and is\r\nrecognized as someone who can speak for the father with his authority and\r\nexercise the father\u2019s power.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nJesus was baptized in the Jordan River, the Father spoke from Heaven and used\r\nthe same phraseology the Jews were accustomed to hearing when a son reached\r\n\u201cthe time appointed of the father.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>That\r\nphraseology was, <\/span>\u201cThis is my Beloved Son<\/span> (huios<\/span><\/i><\/b>)\r\n<\/span>in Whom I am well pleased.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications was being manifested on that occasion since\r\n\u201csonship\u201d was officially granted.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus\r\nbecame the officially recognized \u201cSon of God\u201d in that moment.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications has been tasked with seeing that we are \u201choly\r\nand without blame before Him [The Father] in love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

His\r\nobjective is to so work in our lives that we become transformed \u201cto the praise\r\nof the glory of His grace\u201d in order that we become accepted, recognized and\r\ncommissioned as \u201cSons of God\u201d \u2013 heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace was at work in Jesus Christ when He redeemed us from the curse\r\nthrough His Blood, forgave all of our sins and iniquities, and \u2013 together with\r\nthe Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation \u2013 poured Himself into us in such a way that\r\nwe would manifest the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John\r\ndemonstrates how the Spirit of Grace and Supplications was at work in Jesus in\r\nthe following statements:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John 1:14<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>And the Word was made\r\nflesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only\r\nbegotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

John 1:16-17<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>And of his\r\nfulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by\r\nMoses, but<\/i> grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Writing\r\nin Acts, Luke tells us the following:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Acts 4:33<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>And with great\r\npower gave the apostles witness<\/u> of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great\r\ngrace was upon them all<\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Writing\r\nto the Romans, the apostle Paul says:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans 3:21-26<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b> But now the\r\nrighteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law\r\nand the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is<\/i> by faith of\r\nJesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no\r\ndifference: <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being\r\njustified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus<\/u>:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Whom God hath set forth to be<\/i> a propitiation through\r\nfaith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that\r\nare past, through the forbearance of God;<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

To declare, I say<\/i>, at this time his righteousness: that he\r\nmight be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Are you seeing the picture?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The Spirit of Grace and Supplications was at work in Jesus Christ in\r\norder to bring redemption to us.\u00a0 <\/span>The\r\nSpirit of Grace releases and declares the Word to us in such a way that we hear\r\nthe <\/span>rhema <\/span><\/i>and faith is generated in us in the Blood of Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We often quote as our authority for \u201ccalling those things that\r\nbe not as though they were\u201d Paul\u2019s statement in Romans 4:17, but we need to see\r\nthe context of that statement.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans 4:16-17<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>Therefore\r\nit is<\/i> of faith, that it might be<\/i> by grace; to the end the promise\r\nmight be sure to all the seed<\/span><\/u>; not to that only\r\nwhich is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is\r\nthe father of us all,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,)\r\nbefore him whom he believed, even<\/i> God, who quickeneth the dead, and\r\ncalleth those things which be not as though they were.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Now\r\ndo you see it?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Faith\r\nis released by the Spirit of Grace and Supplications so that the promise of\r\nthis authority can be made \u201csure to all the seed\u201d of Abraham.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nSpirit of Grace and Supplications is the driving force of faith.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nwrap up this part of our discussion with a look at what Paul writes in his\r\nletter to the Hebrews.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hebrews 4:14-16<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>Seeing\r\nthen that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus\r\nthe Son of God, let us hold fast our<\/i> profession. <\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the\r\nfeeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are,\r\nyet<\/i> without sin.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we\r\nmay obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nboldness that drives our faith \u2013 that same faith that enables us to come before\r\nthe Throne of Grace \u2013 is empowered within us by the Spirit of Grace.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nThrone of Grace is that same Throne John describes (and we\u2019ve talked about this\r\nbefore) in Revelation 1.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nthis statement?<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 1:4<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/b>John to the\r\nseven churches which are in Asia: Grace be<\/i> unto you, and peace, from him\r\nwhich is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which\r\nare before his throne;<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword translated \u201cbefore\u201d in the KJV in this verse comes from the Greek enopion<\/span><\/i><\/b>, which means: in the place of\r\nand occupy<\/u>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thus,\r\nthe Throne of Grace is the same Throne which all Seven Spirits of God are in\r\nthe place of, and occupy.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis why we can come boldly before this Throne and receive the grace we need for\r\nany and every situation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Have\r\nyou seen by now how the Spirit of Grace and Supplications works yet?\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s go back to a basic understanding of\r\nwhat grace really is.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\r\nis nothing passive about grace.\u00a0 <\/span>This is\r\na whole lot more than \u201cunmerited favor.\u201d\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We quoted this verse earlier today, but here it is again.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians 2:8<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b>For by grace are ye\r\nsaved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is<\/i> the gift of\r\nGod:\u00a0 <\/span>Not of works, lest any man should\r\nboast.\u00a0 <\/span>For we are his workmanship,\r\ncreated in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we\r\nshould walk in them.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nhow Paul told us in Romans that <\/span>\u201cFaith cometh by\r\nhearing, and hearing by the Word <\/span>(rhema<\/span><\/i><\/b>)\r\n<\/span>of God\u201d<\/span>?\u00a0 <\/span>So faith is the gift that is given in order\r\nfor grace to work.\u00a0 <\/span>Grace, therefore, is\r\nthe empowerment to accomplish!\u00a0 <\/span>Grace is\r\ngiven to us so that we can accomplish what God instructs or sets before us.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Now,\r\nput that together with Supplications.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We\u2019ve already described this word from its Hebrew counterpart as: to speak over, to declare the Word of the Covenant, to\r\ncommand to prosper.<\/span><\/u><\/i><\/b>\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We also have this in the root: to\r\nbless, to bestow favor, to speak prosperity<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Thus,\r\nthe Spirit of Grace and Supplications empowers our speaking over (something or\r\nsomeone) the Word of the Covenant that is given to us by Holy Spirit.\u00a0 <\/span>We know what to speak and how to speak\r\nbecause the Spirit of Grace and Supplications has been revealed and imparted\r\n\u2014maybe \u201cinfused\u201d would be a better word here \u2014 into our beings.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
