\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Once again, it is important to recognize that we have been\r\nprogrammed by centuries of wrong thinking and a mindset woven into society that\r\nrequires us to expect death \u2013 never mind the fact that Jesus canceled our\r\nappointment with death.\u00a0 <\/span>What happens is\r\nthat because of this wrong mindset and thinking permeating God\u2019s people, Jesus\r\ngets cheated out of a people \u2013 especially a seasoned and mature people who can\r\nteach and mentor believers with Jesus\u2019 mindset.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

No\r\nmatter how long we live, and no matter what our upbringing, we have all\r\ndeveloped mindsets and mental protocols that cause us to either respond or\r\nreact or \u201cadjust\u201d the Word spoken to us to fit our understanding.\u00a0 <\/span>It is mandatory that we overcome those\r\nmindsets and mental protocols.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\u2019ve\r\nquoted this amplified Word to you in the past from Paul\u2019s second letter to the\r\nEkklesia in Corinth, but here it is again.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It fits this situation precisely!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

II Corinthians 10:3-6<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>For though we live,\r\ndeport and comport ourselves by that which we see, hear, taste, smell and\r\ntouch, we do not contend with, war after and execute military strategies\r\n[against Satan] by that which we see and hear, know intellectually, or have\r\nopinions of:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For the weapons and instruments of our war and executed actions\r\n[against Satan] do not have their origins and [weak, impotent] operation in\r\nnatural flesh and human abilities, but they are skillful, potent and powerful \u2013\r\nlike dynamite \u2013 through God to the demolition and extinction of all fortified\r\nand guarded places of opinions in opposition,<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Bringing down violently and demolishing (to total extinction)\r\nall mental reasonings and thought processes, and every mental barrier or\r\narrogant and self-elevated attitude that justifies itself in opposition to the\r\nknowledge of God; bringing into captivity and making a prisoner every\r\nperception of the intellect and every mental purpose or determination to the\r\ncompliance and submission of Christ and His anointing [in the same way that He\r\ncomplied with the will and desire of the Father];<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And holding in readiness and preparedness the [spiritual]\r\nfitness to vindicate and punish all refusal to hear what the Spirit is saying\r\nwhen your attentive and obedient submission has been satisfied fully and\r\nexecuted.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Couldn\u2019t\r\nbe clearer, could it?\u00a0 <\/span>The overcoming of\r\nthe humanistic thinking, the old mindsets \u2014 and more specifically, our belief\r\nthat death is a given, and that all these promises are \u201cin the sweet bye and\r\nbye\u201d \u2014 is war!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis war, folks!\u00a0 <\/span>We are engaged in a\r\nmental battle that the Lord Jesus Christ has already overcome on our behalf.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Death\r\nis not a given!\u00a0 <\/span>Death is a part of the\r\ncurse.\u00a0 <\/span>Death is part of the Law.\u00a0 <\/span>Death is part of the consequence of Adam\u2019s\r\nsin when he ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and\r\nEvil.\u00a0 <\/span>We have been delivered from the\r\nLaw by the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His resurrection power\r\nenacted on the third day when He rose from the dead!\u00a0 <\/span>Once again, take a look at Paul\u2019s statement\r\nin his letter to the Romans:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Romans 8:1-7, KJV<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in\r\nChrist Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law\r\nof the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and\r\ndeath. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,\r\nGod sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned\r\nsin in the flesh: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>That\r\nthe righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the\r\nflesh, but after the Spirit.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the\r\nflesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be\r\ncarnally minded is<\/i> death; but to be spiritually minded is<\/i> life\r\nand peace. Because the carnal mind is<\/i> enmity against God: for it is not\r\nsubject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

One\r\nmore time!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me\r\nfree from the law of sin and death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\ndon\u2019t know how better to say it.\u00a0 <\/span>The Law\r\nof the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus is the Law of the Universe established\r\nwhen Jesus shed His blood, died on the Cross FOR US, and then broke the curse\r\nof death by rising again from the dead on the third day.\u00a0 <\/span>The Law of Sin and Death was abolished by the\r\nLaw of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus \u2014 for those who are in Christ Jesus!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

So far we\u2019ve tried to cover some basic foundations\r\nin understanding what Resurrection from the dead is.\u00a0 <\/span>My objective, thus far, has been to break the\r\nhumanistic mental construct that Resurrection from the dead is an instantaneous\r\nevent, and it relates only<\/i> to raising someone from physical death.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, resurrection is a lifestyle.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What has been so overlooked in the body of Christ is\r\nthe fact that Resurrection applies to everyday living and normal events and\r\nadventures that come our way.\u00a0 <\/span>Our lives\r\nin Christ have been preparing us for the transition we talked about last week\r\nin which we are changed from mortals to immortals.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s see how far we can get today in sharing\r\nthe fundamentals of daily Resurrection life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00ad\u00adTake\r\na look first of all at something that Paul says as he writes to the Corinthian\r\nEkklesia.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Corinthians 15:20-34<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>But now is Christ\r\nrisen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For since by man came\r\ndeath, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For as in Adam all\r\ndie, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>But every man in his\r\nown order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ\u2019s at his\r\ncoming. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Then\r\ncometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the\r\nFather; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For\r\nhe must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>The last enemy that<\/i>\r\nshall be destroyed is<\/i> death. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For he hath put all\r\nthings <\/span>under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him,\r\nit is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And when all things\r\nshall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him\r\nthat put all things under him, that God may be all in all.\u00a0 <\/span>Else what shall they do which are baptized\r\nfor the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the\r\ndead?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>I protest by your\r\nrejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily<\/u>. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>If after the manner\r\nof men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth<\/span>\r\nit me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to\r\nmorrow<\/span> we die. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Be not deceived: evil\r\ncommunications corrupt good manners. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Awake to\r\nrighteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak\r\nthis to your shame.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\u2019m\r\nnot going to take the time to amplify all of this today, but there is so much\r\nembodied in what Paul says that it is hard to know where to begin.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Notice,\r\nfirst of all, that he says, <\/span>I die daily<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>If, indeed, Paul experienced death daily, he\r\nalso experienced resurrection daily.\u00a0 <\/span>It\r\nhad become a lifestyle.\u00a0 <\/span>The KJV\r\ntranslation of his earlier statement obscures the significance of this.\u00a0 <\/span>Watch!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made\r\nalive.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>That\u2019s clear enough.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ve already talked about this in the realm\r\nof water baptism. What follows, however, misses it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits;\r\nafterward they that are Christ\u2019s at his coming.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nnormal instinct is to read this as being the second coming of Christ, and the\r\nGreek word translated \u201ccoming\u201d is a word most of us are familiar with: <\/span>Parousia<\/span><\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>However, this word comes from its root, <\/span>pareimi <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u2014 meaning: <\/span>to be\r\npresent<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>The word, <\/span>Parousia<\/span><\/i><\/b>, therefore,\r\nliterally translates to: <\/span>presence<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/span>Do you see what it does to that\r\nstatement?\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s re-translate and\r\namplify.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But every man or woman in his\/her own particular succession and\r\narrangement: Christ being the first and forerunner (as our pattern overcomer);\r\nand thereafter, they that are in Christ and His anointing, positioned in His\r\npresence.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(I Corinthians 15:22, RAC\r\nTranslation & Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sure\r\nchanges things, doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0 <\/span>Each of us\r\nexperiences death many times \u2014 sometimes, as Paul did, on a daily basis.\u00a0 <\/span>But that death isn\u2019t necessarily a physical,\r\ndrop-dead experience.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sometimes,\r\nthat death is the death of a vision, or the death of a hope or planned\r\nevent.\u00a0 <\/span>Other times, it may be the death\r\nof a relationship with someone, whether that someone be a close friend or a\r\nbrother or sister in the Lord, or someone whom you have loved and revered.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\r\nme cite an example.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Many\r\nof you know that I was involved in international banking back in the\r\n1980\u2019s.\u00a0 <\/span>I got into it because of a\r\nvision the Lord had given me during my time at Long Beach Christian Center in\r\nthe early and mid-1970\u2019s. We\u2019ve talked about that vision many times over the\r\nyears \u2014 a vision for a 24-hour worship center that would, in large part,\r\nduplicate the pattern of David\u2019s tabernacle.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\nwas planted in my spirit with that vision was what happened with the nation of\r\nIsrael during the years that the continuous praise and worship and intercession\r\nwent forth.\u00a0 <\/span>I saw how the United States\r\ncould conceivably duplicate that pattern and reverse the downward spiral it was\r\nexperiencing spiritually, socially and economically.\u00a0 <\/span>The vision became something that almost\r\nconsumed me.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nknew that in order to duplicate the pattern of David\u2019s Tabernacle, we would\r\nneed to do what David did and have a company of praisers and worshipers whose\r\nentire lives and lifestyles focused on ministry to the Lord.\u00a0 <\/span>They couldn\u2019t be engaged in \u201csecular\u201d jobs\r\nand occupations that could interfere with that focus on ministry to the\r\nLord.\u00a0 <\/span>That meant that we were going to\r\nhave to have unlimited resources from which to pay them salaries that would more\r\nthan compensate for their giving up normal jobs and occupations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nbecame engaged in a four-participant trading platform with Merrill Lynch, the\r\nleading banker for the House Ways & Means Committee and the President of\r\nBel Air Mortgage & Finance Company.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>We were recycling and multiplying billions of dollars on behalf of the\r\nCanadian government so that they could provide low-interest loans (think SBA) to\r\nCanadian businesses and enhance the various provincial economies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\nthe Securities and Exchange Commission decided to ban platform trading in the\r\nU.S., I met with the Chairman of the S.E.C. to get permission to complete our\r\ntrading platform.\u00a0 <\/span>That permission was\r\ngranted.\u00a0 <\/span>We completed our project over a\r\ntwo-year period.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

My\r\ncommission for the part I played was right at $7 Million.\u00a0 <\/span>Because of the high-risk nature of platform\r\ntrading, all four parties agreed that our commissions would be put in a trust\r\naccount at Sumitomo Bank in Los Angeles.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>The President of Bel Air Mortgage & Finance was the principal\r\nsignatory to the trust funds, with the responsibility of disbursing those funds\r\nat completion.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

As\r\nwe neared the completion date, Della and I picked a likely piece of ground \u2014\r\neight acres \u2014 just off the Seward Highway in Anchorage to build the worship\r\ncenter.\u00a0 <\/span>Not very big, to be sure, but it\r\nwas a beginning.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nalso negotiated the purchase of a home large enough to accommodate our\r\nexpanding family.\u00a0 <\/span>The price was a\r\nbargain, and the seller was the heir to the Morton Salt fortune.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Lastly,\r\nwe entered into a purchase agreement for the Girdwood Gold Mine, which was just\r\nsouth of Anchorage, and Della advanced the sellers an earnest money check of\r\n$100,000.\u00a0 <\/span>The mine was producing a net\r\nprofit of about $2 Million annually.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nget the picture, I\u2019m sure.\u00a0 <\/span>We were\r\nmoving tangibly towards a real goal.\u00a0 <\/span>We\r\nwere going to be able to build the worship center, AND provide ongoing funding\r\nfor its construction, and the salaries of those who would become the staff of\r\nworshipers.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nday came in January of 1988 when Della and I sat down at Home Savings &\r\nLoan in Anchorage awaiting the transfer of our funds.\u00a0 <\/span>(This was back when wire transfers took place\r\non a twice-daily basis.)\u00a0 <\/span>We were\r\ngathered for the afternoon transfer.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

With\r\nus were the real estate broker who represented the anticipated purchase of both\r\nthe home and the property for the worship center.\u00a0 <\/span>Also with us were the two principals of the\r\nGirdwood Gold Mine.\u00a0 <\/span>This was the day of\r\nclosing on these purchases.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

By\r\nnow, you understand how vested we were in what was taking place.\u00a0 <\/span>The vision was actually getting its\r\nlegs.\u00a0 <\/span>We were about to launch!\u00a0 <\/span>We were doing our best to contain our\r\nexcitement.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nFed Wire window came and went and no funds transferred. <\/a>\u00a0<\/span>It was hard to conceal our disappointment and\r\nfrustration.\u00a0 <\/span>Our real estate broker was\r\nphilosophical about it, as were the principals of the gold mine.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cDon\u2019t fret with it.\u00a0 <\/span>As soon as you resolve the issue, call us and\r\nwe will wrap this up.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

24\r\nhours went by before we found out that the President of Bel Air Mortgage &\r\nFinance had fled the country with all $28 Million of the commissions.\u00a0 <\/span>He had orchestrated everything almost to the\r\nminute.\u00a0 <\/span>It took a year before the Feds\r\nreported to us that he had fled to the island nation of Palau in the south\r\nPacific, where the funds had been broken up into untraceable transactions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nPaul said, \u201c<\/span>I die daily<\/span>,\u201d it made perfect sense to me.\u00a0 <\/span>I died.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Not physically, you understand, but to see us at the brink of the\r\nunfolding of the vision, only to have it slip out from under us like that,\r\ncaused me to crash.\u00a0 <\/span>The vision died.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Once again, it is important to recognize that we have been programmed by centuries of wrong thinking and a mindset woven into society that requires us to expect death \u2013 never mind the fact that Jesus canceled our appointment with death.
