We wrapped up last week with my comments concerning the\r\nmedical profession.\u00a0 <\/span>Guess I need to\r\nclarify a bit.\u00a0 <\/span>Two of our daughters work\r\nin health care.\u00a0 <\/span>Our oldest son was born\r\nunder the care of one of my cousins, who was a medical doctor.\u00a0 <\/span>A number of our relatives work in the medical\r\nprofession in one way or another.\u00a0 <\/span>That\r\nsaid, when doctors and nurses rely on what the pharmaceutical society -- \u201cBig\r\nPharma\u201d \u2013 decrees instead of desiring to see people made whole and complete,\r\nthey work against us and against what Jesus has paid for on our behalf.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

A number of years ago, I was doing a project for Home\r\nSavings and Loan in California.\u00a0 <\/span>One of\r\nthe board members stopped by to visit me, see what progress I was making, and\r\ninvited me out to lunch.\u00a0 <\/span>He was a medical\r\ndoctor whose personal philosophy differed greatly from the traditional \u201cBig\r\nPharma\u201d thinking.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I told him that I was on the 19th<\/sup> day of a fast\r\nand asked if we could take a rain check on lunch.\u00a0 <\/span>He grinned and said, \u201cYou know, I tell my\r\npatients that if they will fast at least once a year for three weeks, they will\r\nwalk in complete health, and they will put me out of business.\u00a0 <\/span>They don\u2019t listen, of course, but it is\r\ntrue.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019d just as soon work myself out\r\nof a job!\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

OK!\u00a0 <\/span>Enough of all\r\nthat.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s get back to where we left\r\noff last week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\ngo back to something that Paul wrote to the Ekklesia in Corinth.\u00a0 <\/span>Perhaps we are taking things in reverse\r\norder, but this is where he lays out, in good legal fashion, the foundational\r\nbasis for our understanding of Resurrection.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Corinthians 15:12-19<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Now\r\nif Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that\r\nthere is no resurrection of the dead? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>But if there be no\r\nresurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen,\r\nthen is<\/i> our preaching vain, and your faith is<\/i> also vain. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Yea,\r\nand we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that\r\nhe raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For if the dead rise\r\nnot, then is not Christ raised: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And if Christ be not\r\nraised, your faith is<\/i> vain; ye are yet in your sins. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Then they also which\r\nare fallen asleep in Christ are perished. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>If in this life only\r\nwe have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nsee how he begins to lay things out in the most logical fashion.\u00a0 <\/span>Paul was educated as a Pharisee and a legal\r\nexpert in the Mosaic Law prior to his conversion on the road to Damascus.\u00a0 <\/span>He uses that same legal mind to help us in\r\nunderstanding just how significant Jesus\u2019 resurrection was, and how it plays\r\ninto our walk in Christ.\u00a0 <\/span>Watch how he\r\nlays it out now.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Corinthians 15:20-34<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>But\r\nnow is Christ risen from the dead, and<\/i> become the firstfruits of them\r\nthat slept. For since by man came<\/i> death, by man came<\/i> also the\r\nresurrection of the dead. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For as in Adam all\r\ndie, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>But every man in his\r\nown order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ\u2019s at his\r\ncoming.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then cometh<\/i> the end, when he shall have delivered up the\r\nkingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all\r\nauthority and power. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For\r\nhe must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>The last enemy that<\/i>\r\nshall be destroyed is<\/i> death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all\r\nthings are put under him, it is<\/i> manifest that he is excepted, which did\r\nput all things under him. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And when all things\r\nshall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him\r\nthat put all things under him, that God may be all in all.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the\r\ndead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And why stand we in\r\njeopardy every hour? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>I\r\nprotest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus,\r\nwhat advantageth<\/span> it me, if the dead rise not? let us\r\neat and drink; for to morrow<\/span> we die. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Be not deceived: evil\r\ncommunications corrupt good manners.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the\r\nknowledge of God: I speak this<\/i> to your shame.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Some\r\nof this needs amplification and clarification, and we will try to do that\r\nshortly.\u00a0 <\/span>We will come back to I\r\nCorinthians 15 momentarily, but let me return to something we shared a few\r\nweeks back from Romans 6.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cTherefore, and as a consequence thereof, we are buried and put\r\ninto the grave through baptism so that our old man sees death.\u00a0 <\/span>It follows, therefore, that in the same way\r\nChrist was raised up from the dead by the visible Glory of the Father, we also\r\nshould walk and live renewed and refreshed (with His breath) of life.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cFor if we have been planted together, germinating as seeds in\r\nthe likeness and form of His death, we shall also spring forth in (and with\r\nHis) resurrection: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Knowing\r\nthis, that our old man and corrupted DNA is crucified with him, that the body\r\n(of law) of sin might be annulled and destroyed in order to free us from having\r\nto serve and be under the Law of Sin and Death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201cFor he who has died is freed from sin (and the laws which\r\ndetermine that which is sin). <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Now if we are truly\r\ndead with Christ, we believe and know that we shall also live with Him:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u201c<\/span><\/sup>Knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die\r\nagain; death has no more authority, dominion, control or power over Him. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>For when He died, He\r\ndied killing off sin and death once and for all: and by virtue of the fact that\r\nHe lives, He lives in and for the destiny and purposes of God.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(Romans 6:4-10,\u00a0 <\/span>RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Is\r\nany of this beginning to sink in yet?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Are you seeing clearly what Jesus has done for us?\u00a0 <\/span>Are you seeing the life He has regenerated on\r\nour behalf so that we can live and walk in power and authority?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Consider\r\nwhat becomes available to us once we are delivered from the power of\r\ndeath.\u00a0 <\/span>No threat of the Enemy can\r\ndissuade us in any way.\u00a0 <\/span>If the Holy\r\nSpirit sends us into a situation where the threat of death hangs heavily, it\r\nmatters not to us.\u00a0 <\/span>Death does not\r\nintimidate us and we have complete authority over it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nremind you of the incident that took place when we were in Atlin, British\r\nColumbia several years ago and our friend Marsha was killed while walking with\r\nDella.\u00a0 <\/span>They were walking on a boardwalk\r\nwhere some 2 X 10 planks had not been fastened down.\u00a0 <\/span>Marsha stepped on one edge of a particular\r\nplank and it flipped up and struck her on the side of her face.\u00a0 <\/span>Della saw her stumble and one leg was about\r\nto be pinched as the plank came back down.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>She hollered, \u201cNO,\u201d at the top of her voice.\u00a0 <\/span>Marsha withdrew her leg but then set it down\r\na second time over the edge causing the plank to come up again and strike her\r\non the temple.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She\r\ndropped into Della\u2019s arms.\u00a0 <\/span>As she went\r\ndown, she looked at Della and said, \u201cDon\u2019t leave me.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Della caught her as she let out her last\r\nbreath with the \u201cdeath rattle\u201d that accompanies one expiring.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nthat moment, Della felt the Spirit of the Lord merge into her being.\u00a0 <\/span>She then saw with her natural eyes, the\r\nSpirit of Death as a dark being coming for Marsha.\u00a0 <\/span>That same Spirit of the Lord rose up in her\r\nand she pointed to the Spirit of Death with a loud exclamation, \u201cNo, you will\r\nnot!\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nspirit continued to come towards Marsha and Della again spoke\r\nauthoritatively.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI said, NO, YOU WILL\r\nNOT!\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>Then she simply looked down at\r\nMarsha and spoke her name, \u201cMARSHA!\u201d\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Instantly, she drew breath and sat up, saying, \u201cWhere am I?\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\u2019ve\r\nall heard me share this before, but we all went into the log cabin where we\r\nwere staying and spent the next hour or so in worship.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s when Holy Spirit gave me the second\r\nversion of the song we sing frequently, \u201cBlessing and Honor.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Forty-five\r\nminutes later, we were all out hiking in the woods and on a hillside, enjoying\r\nthe presence of the Lord and the abundant beauty of the wilderness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/span>One of the most striking and revelatory verses\r\nis found in Revelation.\u00a0 <\/span>We sing various\r\nversions of this Scripture quite often.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 12:11<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And they\r\novercame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and\r\nthey loved not their lives unto the death.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\n\u201covercomers\u201d that Jesus is returning for are those who\u2019ve been able to rise\r\nabove and overcome all the threats of death.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is not some kind of fantasy.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>This is not theoretical.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus\r\nmade it possible, probable and practical for us to walk and live this kind of\r\nlifestyle.\u00a0 <\/span>Think about the consequences\r\nof living Resurrection life for a minute!<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\r\nmatters not what kind of situation you get called to.\u00a0 <\/span>It matters not what kind of need for healing,\r\ndeliverance or ministry of any kind that may open up in front of you.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\u2019ve\r\nbeen empowered by that Resurrection Life to minister to whatever need\r\nexists.\u00a0 <\/span>You have power over death.\u00a0 <\/span>You have the authority of the Lord resident\r\nin your being to operate wherever and however He so directs.\u00a0 <\/span>Are you seeing the picture?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Here\r\nis the crux of the issue.\u00a0 <\/span>YOU have to\r\nembrace that!\u00a0 <\/span>YOU have to act on\r\nit.\u00a0 <\/span>None of this happens automatically.\u00a0 <\/span>We don\u2019t get there just because Jesus paid\r\nfor it.\u00a0 <\/span>We get there because we\r\nabsolutely believe and commit ourselves to walking in that truth.\u00a0 <\/span>This is a two-part covenant!\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus enacted the first part of this for\r\nus.\u00a0 <\/span>But we have to act in response to\r\nwhat He did.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

One\r\nmore thing!\u00a0 <\/span>Because we\u2019ve been so\r\nprogrammed mentally, emotionally and spiritually with a death mindset, when we\r\nfirst begin to act in response to what Jesus paid for on our behalf, we may not\r\nsee the immediate results.\u00a0 <\/span>I can\u2019t tell\r\nyou how many times I\u2019ve acted without seeing the results.\u00a0 <\/span>But I wouldn\u2019t let go.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither should you.\u00a0 <\/span>There comes a day and a time when the results\r\nbegin to show \u2013 and when they do, Katy, bar the door!\u00a0 <\/span>Then things begin to be fun!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nabsolutely MUST fill our minds, our thoughts and our spirits with what Jesus\r\nhas said and is saying!\u00a0 <\/span>Nothing else\r\ncounts.\u00a0 <\/span>It matters not what the world\r\naround says.\u00a0 <\/span>It matters not what your\r\nfriends or fellow Christians may think, or how they react.\u00a0 <\/span>Shut off everything that contradicts the\r\nWord!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Doubt\r\ncannot cloud your thoughts.\u00a0 <\/span>Fear cannot\r\ninterfere in any way.\u00a0 <\/span>Unbelief has been\r\nbanished from the very core of your being.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>I\u2019ve said this before, and I\u2019ll say it again: we are being prepared for\r\nthe transition from mortality to immortality.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Let\u2019s not forget that when Jesus appears, we will see Him as He is\r\nbecause we will be just like Him!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nwrap up today\u2019s discussion with a bit more from I Corinthians 15.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I Corinthians 15:35-50<\/span><\/u><\/b>:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>But some man<\/i>\r\nwill say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Thou<\/span><\/i>\r\nfool, that which thou sowest<\/span> is not quickened, except\r\nit die: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And\r\nthat which thou sowest<\/span>, thou sowest<\/span>\r\nnot that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some\r\nother grain<\/i>: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every\r\nseed his own body. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>All\r\nflesh is<\/i> not the same flesh: but there is<\/i> one kind of<\/i>\r\nflesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and<\/i> another of\r\nbirds. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>There\r\nare<\/span><\/i> also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of\r\nthe celestial is<\/i> one, and the glory<\/i> of the terrestrial is<\/i>\r\nanother.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There is<\/span><\/i> one glory of the sun, and\r\nanother glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one<\/i> star\r\ndiffereth from another<\/i> star in glory. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>So also is<\/i> the\r\nresurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in\r\nincorruption: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>It\r\nis sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is\r\nraised in power: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>It\r\nis sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>And so it is written,\r\nThe first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made<\/i> a\r\nquickening spirit. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>Howbeit\r\nthat was<\/i> not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and\r\nafterward that which is spiritual.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The first man is<\/i> of the earth, earthy: the second man is<\/i>\r\nthe Lord from heaven. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/sup>As is<\/i> the\r\nearthy, such are<\/i> they also that are earthy: and as is<\/i> the\r\nheavenly, such are<\/i> they also that are heavenly.\u00a0 <\/span>And as we have borne the image of the earthy,\r\nwe shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that\r\nflesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption\r\ninherit incorruption.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We wrapped up last week with my comments concerning the medical profession. Guess I need to clarify a bit. Two of our daughters work in health care.
