ANOTHER COFFEE BREAK: MIRACLES, Part 5<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Serena Mirelez<\/span> is one of my\r\nyoungest granddaughters.\u00a0 You'll remember her story from past Coffee\r\nBreaks as the one who was stricken with Transverse Myelitis<\/span>\r\nat 2 1\/2 years of age and mostly paralyzed from the neck down.<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And before you get all excited thinking I'm getting ready\r\nto tell you that she's walking once again, no, not yet.\u00a0 But she's\r\nexperienced a different kind of miracle in the past couple of weeks, and I\r\nbelieve that this miracle has put her well on the road to the final miracle of\r\nher total restoration.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Anyway, Good Morning!<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Holy Spirit is moving today among the people of God,\r\nand there is a massive increase in the intensity with which God is doing\r\nthings.\u00a0 I believe we are at the cusp of the final outpouring of the Holy\r\nSpirit prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Jesus Christ is not\r\nreturning for a namby-pamby, weak-kneed, barely-making-it, do nothing, Caesar\r\nMilquetoast bride.\u00a0 He is coming for a people who function just like Him,\r\nwho are like Him in every respect.\u00a0 He's coming for a people who are\r\nrestored to the state God first created man in -- a people who live and operate\r\nin His power and authority.\u00a0 He's coming for a people who have been made\r\ninto, conformed to, and transformed into His image and likeness.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus is returning for a people who are carriers of His\r\npresence.\u00a0 He's looking for folks who manifest and demonstrate His Glory\r\nin reality.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

He's also coming to gather for Himself a people who will\r\nfill His house.\u00a0 Of necessity, that means there must be a move of God that\r\nsweeps this earth as never before.\u00a0 If you think Pentecost was marvelous\r\nand the events recorded in the book of Acts were spectacular, to put it\r\nbluntly, you ain't<\/span> seen nuthin<\/span>'\r\nyet!<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus made a solemn promise to His people:\u00a0<\/span>\"Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me,\r\nthe works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do<\/span> because I go unto my Father.\"<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0 (John 14:12)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Greater works?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 Greater works than Jesus did?\u00a0 The word in the Greek\r\nthat John uses as he writes this is the word,\u00a0<\/span>meizon<\/span><\/i><\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>pronounced\r\nmide<\/span> - zone<\/span>) and it\r\ntranslates to:\u00a0larger, exceedingly great, more in number, mightier<\/u>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The overwhelming majority of Christians have struggled for\r\ncenturies with the concept of doing even the miracles that Jesus did; and yet\r\nHis plan and purpose was for His people to outperform Him.\u00a0 Well, people,\r\nthat's exactly where we are!\u00a0 That's what God is doing in the earth\r\ntoday.\u00a0 And you ain't<\/span> seen nuthin<\/span>'\r\nyet!<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Miracles have to become the ordinary in our lives.\u00a0\r\nWe are being brought to the place where the supernatural becomes the natural,\r\nwhere we are supernaturally natural and naturally supernatural.\u00a0 (Sorry\r\nabout that tongue twister, but you get the idea.)\u00a0 What we've called\r\n\"miraculous\" in the past must now become a part of our living and\r\nbreathing -- like breathing in and breathing out.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

That comes as a byproduct of our living in the Spirit,\r\nwalking in the Spirit, and exercising the faith of God.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Anyway, let's get to Serena's latest miracle story.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Over the past few months an infection has begun to worsen\r\nin with her hands.\u00a0 She lost all of her fingernails, and during the past\r\nmonth or so the tips of her fingers have blackened.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Rebekah<\/span><\/span> (her mother) has taken her to see one specialist after\r\nanother.\u00a0 First it was <\/span>Spokane<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0 Then it was <\/span>Portland<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0\r\nThen it was the Children's Hospital in <\/span>Seattle<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0\r\nThen back to Sacred Heart in <\/span>Spokane<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0\r\nFinally, it has been <\/span>Kadlec<\/span><\/span><\/st1:PlaceName> <\/span>Hospital<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> in <\/span>Richland<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0 At Kadlec<\/span> about two weeks or\r\nso ago, Serena's doctor told Rebekah<\/span> that -- while he\r\nneeded to run some confirming tests -- he was virtually certain that Serena had\r\ndeveloped osteomyelitis<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The U.S. National Library of Medicine defines this disease\r\nas:\u00a0<\/span>\"an acute\r\nor chronic bone infection,<\/span> usually caused by\r\nbacteria.\"<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The in-depth explanation adds,\u00a0<\/span>\"The infection that causes osteomyelitis<\/span> often is in another part of the body and\r\nspreads to the bone via the blood. Affected bone may have been predisposed to\r\ninfection because of recent trauma.\u00a0 In children, the long bones are\r\nusually affected. In adults, the vertebrae and the pelvis are most commonly\r\naffected. Bone infection can be caused by bacteria or by fungus. When the bone\r\nis infected, pus is produced within the bone, which may result in an abscess.\r\nThe abscess then deprives the bone of its blood supply.\u00a0 Chronic osteomyelitis<\/span> results when bone tissue dies as a result of\r\nthe lost blood supply. Chronic infection can persist intermittently for\r\nyears.\"<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Serena's doctor, however, had a far greater concern.\u00a0\r\nHe was pretty sure that Serena had contracted some rare form of bone-cancer,\r\nand his initial determination was that he would need to amputate her fingers --\r\nor at least parts of them, depending on the degree of infection.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

X-rays were taken which showed that Serena's bones in her\r\nhands were disintegrating.\u00a0 Her fingers had almost turned to mush.\u00a0\r\nWhen the doctor advised Rebekah<\/span> that Serena was going\r\nto need surgery almost immediately, she called Della and me in a state of\r\npanic.\u00a0 This was on a Thursday night, and it was around <\/span>6:30 PM<\/span><\/st1:time>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For both Della and me, the reaction was almost\r\ninstantaneous, and we both reacted the same way.\u00a0 Anger rose up in my\r\nbeing, the like of which I haven't experienced in many years.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

If you remember the previous sharing on Serena's\r\nexperiences in seeing Jesus -- multiple experiences over a period of several\r\ndays -- in which He specifically told her that He was going to heal her\r\ncompletely, that she would walk again, run again, and \"be a Jesus\r\nTeller.\"\u00a0 (That was Serena's way of describing an evangelist.)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She had been very excited and joy-filled over the prospect\r\nof God's promises to her, and told us that Jesus had also told her that she\r\n\"would lay hands on other kids just like me who were in wheelchairs,\"\r\nand see them get out of those wheelchairs completely healed.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The doctor's announcement over alleged bone-cancer and the\r\nplan to amputate all or parts of some of her fingers was an insult from\r\nSatan!\u00a0 Both Della and I saw it as his scheme to defeat, to discourage,\r\nand to steal Serena's faith in the promises of the Lord, and simply give up.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We both reacted exactly the same way.\u00a0 \"OH, NO\r\nTHEY <\/span>WON<\/span><\/st1:stockticker>'T!\u00a0 NO <\/span>ONE<\/span><\/st1:stockticker> IS TOUCHING SERENA'S HANDS OR FINGERS!\"\u00a0 With Rebekah<\/span> on the telephone, we declared the promises of God,\r\nand almost yelled, \"In the name of Jesus, we command that osteomyelitis<\/span> and\/or bone-cancer to vanish.\u00a0 We speak,\r\nand we declare healing to her hands, to her bones, and to all of the affected\r\ntissue.\"\u00a0 (Actually, I think we did yell!)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

By <\/span>10:00 PM<\/span><\/st1:time> that same\r\nevening, the hospital had run a series of tests.\u00a0 The doctor advised Rebekah<\/span> that the tests showed positive for cancer.\u00a0\r\nThey made preparations for surgery the following morning.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When we went to bed that night, Della and I both had a\r\ncomplete sense of victory in our spirits and we slept like babies.\u00a0\r\nMorning came, and the principal physician had some second thoughts.\u00a0 He\r\ndecided to run another series of tests.\u00a0 This time the test results came\r\nback negative for cancer, but confirmed the earlier diagnosis of osteomyelitis<\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

A decision was made to put off any plans for surgery\r\nindefinitely and attempt to treat the osteomyelitis<\/span>\r\nwith some vigorous attacks on the fungus.\u00a0 I'm not a physician and I don't\r\nremember what the doctor called the medicines with which he proposed to treat\r\nSerena.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Della and I continued our declarations of God's Word and\r\nHis specific promises of healing over Serena.\u00a0 Friday afternoon\r\ncame.\u00a0 As the nurses prepared to administer the medication, they noticed a\r\nvisible change in the appearance of Serena's fingers.\u00a0 The doctor was\r\ncalled in.\u00a0 He couldn't figure out why there was such a marked change for\r\nthe better.\u00a0 It was time for another set of tests.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It was Monday before Rebekah<\/span> was\r\nnotified of the new test results.\u00a0 \"Rebekah<\/span>,\r\nI don't know if we've seriously misdiagnosed Serena or just what is happening,\r\nbut the tests are now showing negative for osteomyelitis<\/span>.\u00a0\r\nWe believe we can treat the remaining infection on her finger tips quite easily\r\nand effectively, and she should be out of this in no time.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Tell you what!\u00a0 These are some of the best doctors in\r\nthis part of the country.\u00a0 There was no misdiagnosis of cancer, and no\r\nmisdiagnosis of osteomyelitis<\/span>.\u00a0 They were real\r\nall right.\u00a0 It's just that \"cancer\" and \"osteomyelitis<\/span>\" are<\/span> nothing\r\nbut \"names.\"\u00a0 They are \"names\" that describe certain\r\nwell-understood diseases to the medical profession.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But they are just that: \"names.\"<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In case you're not following my line of communication, let\r\nme take you to a verse of Scripture.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and\r\ngiven him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every\r\nknee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the\r\nearth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the\r\nglory of God the Father.\"<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0\r\n(Philippians 2:9-11)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Get it?\u00a0 \"Cancer\" and \"osteomyelitis<\/span>\" are<\/span>\r\n\"names\" that are subject to the name of Jesus.\u00a0 Cancer and osteomyelitis<\/span> must bow, they must yield to, respond to and\r\nobey the commands given in the name (the onoma<\/span>: the\r\ncharacter, the personality, the makeup, the very essence) of Jesus.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let's add one more like-Scripture.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the\r\nLord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you,\r\nmaking mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the\r\nFather of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the\r\nknowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may\r\nknow what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his\r\ninheritance in the saints,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to\r\nus-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he\r\nwrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own\r\nright hand in the heavenly places,<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\"Far above all principality, and power, and might,\r\nand dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in\r\nthat which is to come<\/u>: And hath\u00a0put all things under his feet<\/u>,\r\nand gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body,\r\nthe fulness<\/span> of him that filleth<\/span>\r\nall in all.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0(Ephesians 1:15-23)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There you go!\u00a0 Now, here's the kicker.\u00a0 It's not\r\njust the name of Jesus: it is the name of Jesus working in and through us that\r\neffects and implements that power and authority.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Paul continues in his letter to the Ephesians.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love\r\nwherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us\r\ntogether with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together,\r\nand made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages\r\nto come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward\r\nus through Christ Jesus.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0(Ephesians\r\n2:4-7)<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

God the Father demonstrates the exceeding and abundant\r\nriches of His grace in His kindness towards us through Jesus Christ by making\r\nHis Word alive and operational, powerful and authoritative when we speak and\r\ndeclare the applicable Word in any given situation.\u00a0 That Della and I knew\r\nthat Word and could call it into action on Serena's behalf was critically\r\nimportant.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

But that's the secret of what we so euphemistically call\r\n\"miracles.\"\u00a0 They are only miracles if your place of reference\r\nis sub-normal.\u00a0 They're not miracles if you are living and operating in\r\nthe <\/span>Kingdom<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType> of <\/span>God<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><\/st1:place>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I keep saying this, and I'll repeat myself again.\u00a0\r\nThis is normal Christianity.\u00a0\u00a0We are being brought to the place where\r\nthe supernatural becomes the natural, where we are supernaturally natural and\r\nnaturally supernatural.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We've been away from our series on Kingdom Economics for\r\nnearly two months.\u00a0 I'd like to finish that series over the next couple of\r\nweeks or so.\u00a0 We'll come back to these two series on Miracles and\r\nAngelology in the weeks or months ahead; and I may periodically just stop to\r\nshare some more of the continuously unfolding miracles we're seeing and\r\nexperiencing.<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Faith causes the intellect to see, the heart to hear, and\r\nthe will to respond.\u00a0 Faith is not a substitute: it is the very substance\r\nof that which we hope for and expect.\u00a0 Faith comes by hearing, and hearing\r\nby the Word of God.<\/span><\/i><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Blessing of the Lord: it makes rich and He adds no\r\npainful toil and sorrow!<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>(Proverbs\r\n10:22)\u00a0 Be blessed!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n
