We are really taking a different approach today to understanding\r\nthe Tabernacle of David and the nature or praise and worship. <\/span>You may even think I\u2019ve gone off the deep end\r\nat first, but that\u2019s OK. <\/span>Bear with me\r\nwhile I lay some foundations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nwill remember how we\u2019ve talked about Lucifer and his original creation as\r\nworship leader in Heaven and how he was created to surround the Throne of God\r\nwith worship. <\/span>The concept of\r\n\u201csurrounding\u201d comes into play with where I want to go today, and why that was\r\nso significant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\norder for me to explain this, we need to revisit the original creation of Eve\r\nfor Adam. <\/span>First, let\u2019s look at Adam and\r\nEve\u2019s original purpose: dominion!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Genesis 1:26-28<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And God said,\r\nLet us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion\r\nover the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,\r\nand over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the\r\nearth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

So God created man in his own<\/i> image, in the image of God\r\ncreated he him; male and female created he them. <\/span><\/sup>And God blessed them, and God said unto\r\nthem, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and\r\nhave dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over\r\nevery living thing that moveth upon the earth.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

That\r\nbrings us now to Eve as the counterpart and \u201cother self\u201d for Adam.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Genesis 2:18-24<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And the LORD\r\nGod said, It is<\/i> not good that the man should be alone; I will make him\r\nan help meet for him. <\/span><\/sup>And out\r\nof the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of\r\nthe air; and brought them<\/i> unto Adam to see what he would call them: and\r\nwhatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was<\/i> the name thereof.\r\n <\/span><\/sup>And Adam gave names to all\r\ncattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for\r\nAdam there was not found an help meet for him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he\r\nslept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; <\/span><\/sup>And the rib, which the LORD God had\r\ntaken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. <\/span><\/sup>And Adam said, This is<\/i> now bone\r\nof my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was\r\ntaken out of Man. <\/span><\/sup>Therefore\r\nshall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:\r\nand they shall be one flesh. <\/span><\/sup>And\r\nthey were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nway this gets translated in our English versions really misses it. <\/span>First, consider two Hebrew words, <\/span>\u2018ish<\/span><\/i><\/b>, and <\/span>\u2018ishah<\/span><\/i><\/b>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nword, <\/span>\u2018ish<\/span><\/i><\/b>, literally translated, is man. <\/span>This word, however, is the term that is\r\napplied to \u201chusband.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

On\r\nthe other hand, <\/span>\u2018ishah<\/span><\/i><\/b> would be the term for woman. <\/span>As you might imagine, this is also the term\r\nfor \u201cwife.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

For\r\nas long as I can remember, I have heard the term \u201chelpmeet\u201d applied to Eve\u2019s\r\ncreation for Adam. <\/span>That\u2019s sad. <\/span>First of all, there is no such thing in the\r\nHebrew as \u201chelpmeet.\u201d <\/span>That waters down\r\nthe whole concept of a woman\u2019s creation, and specifically, a wife. <\/span>There are two distinct words in the Hebrew\r\ntext to describe just how significant Eve\u2019s creation was.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nfirst is the word, <\/span>\u2018ezer<\/span><\/i><\/b>. <\/span>This word gets\r\ntranslated as \u201chelp\u201d but it is much more than that. <\/span>It means: <\/span>to aid, to sustain, to\r\nsurround, to protect<\/span>. <\/span>We\u2019ll come back to this momentarily.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nsecond word is, <\/span>neged<\/span><\/i><\/b>. <\/span>While one of\r\nthe meanings of this word is \u201ccounterpart\u201d or \u201cother self,\u201d it goes well beyond\r\nthat. <\/span><\/span>Neged<\/span><\/i><\/b> is used as a\r\nmilitary term. <\/span>It represents: <\/span>a\r\nfront, a defense, over against, before<\/span>. <\/span>In\r\nother words, <\/span>this is someone who will be your defense, someone who will die\r\nfor you if necessary, someone who opposes your enemies, someone who provides\r\nevery kind of assistance necessary<\/span>. <\/span>In\r\nanother sense, <\/span>this is someone who will become the praise of your existence<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\ncan illustrate this from Proverbs 31. \r\n<\/span>Notice how this begins.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Proverbs 31:10-31<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>Who can find a\r\nvirtuous woman? for her price is<\/i> far above rubies. <\/span><\/sup>The heart of her husband doth safely\r\ntrust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. <\/span><\/sup>She will do him good and not evil all\r\nthe days of her life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her\r\nhands. <\/span><\/sup>She is like the merchants\u2019\r\nships; she bringeth her food from afar. <\/span><\/sup>She riseth<\/span>\r\nalso while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to\r\nher maidens.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She considereth<\/span> a field, and buyeth<\/span> it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth<\/span> a vineyard. <\/span><\/sup>She girdeth<\/span>\r\nher loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth<\/span>\r\nthat her merchandise is<\/i> good: her candle goeth not out by night.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She layeth<\/span> her hands to the spindle,\r\nand her hands hold the distaff. <\/span><\/sup>She\r\nstretcheth<\/span> out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth<\/span> forth her hands to the needy. <\/span><\/sup>She is not afraid of the snow for her\r\nhousehold: for all her household are<\/i> clothed with scarlet.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is<\/i>\r\nsilk and purple. <\/span><\/sup>Her husband\r\nis known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh\r\nfine linen, and selleth<\/span> it<\/i>; and delivereth<\/span> girdles unto the merchant.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Strength and honour are<\/i> her clothing; and she shall\r\nrejoice in time to come. <\/span><\/sup>She\r\nopeneth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is<\/i> the law of kindness.\r\n <\/span><\/sup>She looketh well to the ways\r\nof her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. <\/span><\/sup>Her children arise up, and call her\r\nblessed; her husband also<\/i>, and he praiseth<\/span>\r\nher.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them\r\nall. <\/span><\/sup>Favour is<\/i>\r\ndeceitful, and beauty is<\/i> vain: but<\/i> a woman that<\/i> feareth\r\nthe LORD, she shall be praised. <\/span><\/sup>Give\r\nher of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\r\nsaid to notice how this passage begins: <\/span>Who can find a\r\nvirtuous woman?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Once\r\nagain, we have an translation in our English versions that \u2014 while OK \u2014 really\r\nhides what Holy Spirit is communication. \r\n<\/span>Here is a word in Hebrew which parallels the term, <\/span>neged<\/span><\/i><\/b>. <\/span>In this instance, the Hebrew word translated,\r\n\u201cvirtuous,\u201d is <\/span>chayil!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

We\r\nalmost need a separate study to look at all of the meanings of this word, but\r\nit clearly demonstrates all the attributes of the \u201cvirtuous woman.\u201d <\/span>Watch!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Chayil<\/span><\/i><\/b> means: <\/span>force,\r\narmy, wealth, resources, virtue, valor, strength, band of soldiers, forces,\r\ngoods, hosts, might, power, riches, substance, valor, worthy, efficiency,\r\nability<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Are\r\nyou beginning to get the picture? <\/span>Are\r\nyou beginning to see how Eve was created for Adam? <\/span>Do you now understand <\/span>\u2018ezer <\/span><\/i><\/b>and <\/span>neged<\/span><\/i><\/b> and the true\r\nnature of the Bride?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

When\r\nwe read where God said, <\/span>\u201cI will make him an help meet for him,\u201d <\/span>a far better\r\ntranslation would have been, <\/span>\u201cI will make him a counterpart,\r\nfitted and equipped for him.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nwheels are turning in your head! \r\n<\/span>(grin) <\/span>I can see it now! <\/span>What in the world does all this have to do\r\nwith the Tabernacle of David? <\/span>What does\r\nall this have to do with praise and worship?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\ngo back to the picture of Lucifer in Heaven, and how he was created to surround\r\nthe Throne of God with praise, glory and worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Why\r\ndid God want the Throne surrounded in the first place? <\/span>Why worship?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\npraise and worship are what we see described in the virtuous woman. <\/span>God was surrounding himself with beauty, with\r\nforce, with unimaginable glory, with utter perfection. <\/span>That praise and worship would go forth from\r\nthe Throne as His military might. \r\n<\/span>Remember! <\/span>It wasn\u2019t just Lucifer,\r\nthe \u201cmorning star,\u201d the illuminated one. \r\n<\/span>It was the angelic hosts that accompanied him in this chorus of worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

So,\r\nconsider this. <\/span>When Lucifer corrupted\r\nthat praise and worship and became so elevated in his own mind that he thought\r\nhe could replace God on the Throne, he was thrown out of Heaven, along with\r\nthose angels that accompanied him and became joined in agreement.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

God\r\nwasn\u2019t about to eliminate that presence around the Throne! <\/span>He decided instead to have for Himself a\r\npeople just like Him \u2014 a people who would also replace Lucifer as that force of\r\npraise and worship surrounding the Throne. \r\n<\/span>His heart\u2019s desire was for a people who would become a force of love, a\r\nforce of strength, a source and resource of creative sound \u2014 that same kind of\r\nsound that came forth when He uttered the first words of Creation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nwhat God said of David?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Acts 13:22<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>And when he had\r\nremoved him (Saul), he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also\r\nhe gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son<\/i> of Jesse, a\r\nman after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will<\/u>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

David\r\nsaw into the very heart of the Lord. <\/span>His\r\nheart\u2019s desire was to accomplish that desire of the Lord for a people who would\r\nbecome His family, a people who would replace Lucifer, a people who would\r\nbecome that surrounding force of praise and worship around the Throne. <\/span>When David sat on the hillsides, tending the\r\nsheep, playing on his harp and praising and worshiping the Lord, God saw the\r\nheart of David. <\/span>David had a vision of\r\nthe heart of the Lord. <\/span>It permeated his\r\nbeing. <\/span>It consumed him. <\/span>A determination gripped him to the place\r\nwhere he knew that if the day ever came when it would be possible, he was\r\nsomehow going to fulfil the heart\u2019s desire of the Lord for praise and worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\u2019s\r\nget back to the understanding of how and why we have all been created. <\/span>First, consider what God did (on an interim\r\nbasis?) to replace Lucifer as that force of praise and worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Revelation 4<\/span><\/u><\/b>: <\/span>After this I looked,\r\nand, behold, a door was<\/i> opened in heaven: and the first voice which I\r\nheard was<\/i> as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up\r\nhither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was\r\nset in heaven, and one<\/i> sat on the throne. <\/span><\/sup>And he that sat was to look upon like a\r\njasper and a sardine stone: and there was<\/i> a rainbow round about the\r\nthrone, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were<\/i>\r\nfour and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting,\r\nclothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and\r\nvoices: and there were<\/i> seven lamps of fire burning before the throne,\r\nwhich are the seven Spirits of God. <\/span><\/sup>And before the throne there was<\/i> a\r\nsea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about\r\nthe throne, were<\/i> four beasts full of eyes before and behind. <\/span><\/sup>And the first beast was<\/i> like a\r\nlion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a\r\nman, and the fourth beast was<\/i> like a flying eagle.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him<\/i>;\r\nand they were<\/i> full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night,\r\nsaying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.\r\nAnd when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the\r\nthrone, who liveth for ever and ever,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/sup><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the\r\nthrone, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns\r\nbefore the throne, saying, <\/span><\/sup>Thou\r\nart worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast\r\ncreated all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

God\r\ndidn\u2019t leave Himself without that surrounding force of praise and worship when\r\nLucifer was cast out of Heaven. <\/span>He\r\nsurrounded the Throne with four unusual beings, as well as the twenty-four\r\nElders.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

By\r\nthe way, the translation of the word, <\/span>zoon<\/span><\/i><\/b> (which comes from <\/span>zao<\/span><\/i><\/b>) as \u201cbeast\u201d gives\r\na wrong impression. <\/span>The use of the word,\r\nbeast, could give one a mental image of some kind of monster. <\/span>Rather, this could and should be translated\r\nas \u201cbeing\u201d \u2014 or \u201cliving being.\u201d <\/span>They\r\nwere not humans, but they were living beings of unusual character and\r\nappearance. <\/span>They represented the\r\nmilitary force in the midst of the praise and worship.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\n11th verse of Revelation 4 makes the statement, <\/span>for Thou hast\r\ncreated all<\/span>\r\n[things \u2014 this word does not exist in the Greek text], <\/span>and\r\nfor thy pleasure they are and were created<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

These\r\nbeings were created to bring that pleasure to God in the absence of Lucifer,\r\nbut by the same token, we were created for His pleasure. <\/span>David saw that. <\/span>Remember, the Lord said of David that he\r\nwould fulfil all His will. <\/span>That\u2019s the\r\nsame word in the Greek text: <\/span>thelema<\/span><\/i><\/b>. <\/span>It represents: <\/span>desire, purpose,\r\ndesign, pleasure, determination, inclination<\/span>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nwere created for the express purpose of bringing delight and pleasure to the\r\nLord. <\/span>Of course we were to be His\r\nfamily. <\/span>We were created in His likeness\r\nand image. <\/span>But we were created to bring\r\nthe kind of praise and worship that only He could develop within us.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\nis where we need to leave it for today. \r\n<\/span>We will continue this picture next week.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
