\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This is a topic that stirs a\r\nlot of folks.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The Spirit of Poverty has so infected the body\r\nof Christ that all the symptoms of this spirit become accepted as the \u201cnorm\u201d\r\nand the mindset of poverty literally rules a majority of Christians.\u00a0 <\/span>Because of what God is preparing to do in the\r\nbody, and the covenant of blessing that is about to be poured out for the sake\r\nof the Kingdom, it is super-critical that believers get a hold of this and get\r\ntheir deliverance from this spirit and its strongholds in their lives.<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nother day, I said that I\u2019ve heard Christians give one excuse after another as\r\nto why they live with certain sicknesses, diseases or afflictions.\u00a0 <\/span>After a while it gets nauseating.\u00a0 <\/span>Sometimes I wonder if Christians spout more doubt\r\nand unbelief than the so-called unbelievers.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>If it isn\u2019t one thing, it\u2019s another.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Same\r\nthing applies to just about everything else in their lives.\u00a0 <\/span>I marvel when I hear Christians \u2013 CHRISTIANS\r\n!!!\u00a0 <\/span>The folks who are supposed to be\r\nliving the abundant life \u2013 moan and groan about making their insurance\r\npayments, their house payments, their car payments, having enough money to buy\r\ngroceries, etc., etc., etc.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\never happened to speaking faith, pray tell?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

What\r\never happened to what Jesus said?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Mark 11:24:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201cFor\r\nverily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,\r\nand be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall\r\nbelieve that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have\r\nwhatsoever he saith<\/u>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

How\r\nis it that the lack of provision for something, or the lack of health, or the\r\npresence of some ailment or affliction becomes the standard by which folks live\r\ninstead of God\u2019s Word?\u00a0 <\/span>Why does it\r\nbecome the rule in a person\u2019s life?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

I\u2019ll\r\ntell you why.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

It\u2019s\r\ncalled the Almost-Enough Mentality.\u00a0 <\/span>We\r\ncan also call it the Not-Quite-Enough Mentality.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

You\r\nknow where that comes from, don\u2019t you?\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Right.\u00a0 <\/span>Doubt.\u00a0 <\/span>Unbelief.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Unbelief becomes the yardstick by which things are measured.\u00a0 <\/span>People read Jesus\u2019 statement, and then say,\r\n\u201cYeah, But\u2026..\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>And as soon as they add\r\nthe \u201cBut\u201d into their conversation and confession, they\u2019ve lost any chance of\r\nhaving \u201cwhatsoever he saith.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

No,\r\nI take that back.\u00a0 <\/span>They DO have\r\n\u201cwhatsoever he saith.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>The \u201cwhatsoever\r\nhe saith\u201d is \u201cBut.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>It falls short of\r\nwhat they need.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t quite meet\r\nthe need.\u00a0 <\/span>People almost get well.\u00a0 <\/span>They have almost enough to pay their bills,\r\nbut not quite enough.\u00a0 <\/span>So they continue\r\nin need.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Is\r\nthe need the yardstick by which we measure God\u2019s Word?\u00a0 <\/span>Well, what does the Word of God say?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\nsaid something that has been the hallmark of our walk and our life in Him:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

John 10:10<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/u>\r\n\u201cThe thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come\r\nthat they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly<\/u>.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\napostle Paul put it like this,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ephesians 3:20-21:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201cNow\r\nunto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly<\/u> above all that we ask\r\nor think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be<\/span> glory in the church by Christ\r\nJesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In\r\nhis letter to Titus, Paul writes the following:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Titus 3:4-7:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>\u201cBut after that the\r\nkindness and love of God our Saviour<\/span> toward man\r\nappeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to\r\nhis mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy\r\nGhost; Which he shed on us abundantly<\/u> through Jesus Christ our Saviour<\/span>; That being justified by his grace, we should be\r\nmade heirs according to the hope of eternal life.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then\r\nin his epistle to the Hebrews, we read,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hebrews 6:14-18:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span><\/i><\/b>\u201cSaying,\r\nSurely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And\r\nso, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily\r\nswear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is<\/span> to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more\r\nabundantly to show unto the heirs of promise<\/u> the immutability of his\r\ncounsel, confirmed it<\/span> by an\r\noath: That by two immutable things, in which it was<\/span> impossible for God to lie<\/u>, we might have a strong\r\nconsolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Then\r\nPeter writes in his second letter,<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

II Peter 1:10-11:<\/span><\/u><\/b> <\/span>\u201cWherefore the\r\nrather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if\r\nye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered\r\nunto you abundantly<\/u> into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour<\/span> Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nyou\u2019ve been paying attention to these statements, you\u2019ve seen a key word that\r\nrepeats over and over again: abundantly<\/u>.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It doesn\u2019t matter what it is that the Lord does for us, whether it is\r\nsalvation, whether it is healing, whether it is provision to meet needs or\r\nwhether it is our inheritance in Christ Jesus, EVERYTHING He does is in and\r\nwith abundance \u2013 not \u201calmost enough,\u201d not falling short of meeting some need,\r\nnot \u201cnot quite enough\u201d (\u2018Scuse the double negative, there) \u2013 ABUNDANCE!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There\u2019s\r\na beautiful word that occurs in the Greek text in each of these cases that you\r\nneed to see.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s the word, <\/span>perissoteros<\/span><\/i><\/b> or <\/span>perissos<\/span><\/i><\/b> <\/span><\/b>(its root).\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>It translates literally to: superabundant,\r\nexcessive, superior, beyond measure, wealthy, abounding with, rich<\/u>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

There!\u00a0 <\/span>Like them apples?\u00a0 <\/span>Does that sound like \u201calmost enough,\u201d or \u201cnot\r\nquite enough\u201d?\u00a0 <\/span>Makes you wonder how in\r\nthe world folks get stuck with that kind of thinking.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Go\r\nback for a second and take a look at these references.\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s put these statements in a context of\r\nsuperabundance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\nsaid: <\/span>\u201cI have come that you might have life, breath and vitality \u2013\r\n(the God-kind), and that you might have it excessively, beyond measure,\r\nsuperior, abounding in all, being wealthy and rich.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(John 10:10b, RAC Translation &\r\nAmplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hey,\r\ndon\u2019t look at me like that!\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m not the\r\none who said it.\u00a0 <\/span>Jesus said it.\u00a0 <\/span>If that doesn\u2019t describe you, then why not?\u00a0 <\/span>And don\u2019t give me that load of unbelieving\r\nhorse puckey about \u201cthat\u2019s referring to spiritual, not physical or\r\nmaterial.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>It just won\u2019t fly!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\napostle Paul wrote, <\/span>\u201cNow unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly \u2013 beyond\r\nall measure, excessively, abounding in everything and every part of our life \u2013\r\nabove all that we ask or think, according to the miraculous force and power\r\nthat has been energized, is active and efficiently working in us, Unto him be<\/span> glory in the Ekklesia by Christ\r\nJesus throughout all our generations, in perpetuity throughout the eternity of\r\nthe eternities. Amen! So be it.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0\r\n<\/span>(Ephesians 3:20-21, RAC Translation and Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

REALLY?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>Above all we ask or think?\u00a0 <\/span>According to the power that worketh in us?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Yup.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

See\r\nthe last comment in that statement by Paul?\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>\u201cUnto Him be glory in the Ekklesia by Christ Jesus throughout\r\nall generations, in perpetuity throughout the eternity of the eternities.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Somebody\r\nwant to tell me, please, how it is that Christ Jesus gets glory by you living\r\nin poor health?\u00a0 <\/span>Want to tell me how the\r\nLord gets glory by your being sick all the time?\u00a0 <\/span>Want to tell me how Jesus gets the glory by\r\nyou never being able to pay your bills on time, never having enough to supply\r\nthe needs of others, always living in need?<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Do\r\nyou know what abundance is, anyway?\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s\r\nthe manifestation of love.\u00a0 <\/span>Stop and\r\nthink about it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nwhat Solomon wrote in the Proverbs?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Proverbs 13:22:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>\u201cA bountiful, gracious, joyful, kind and loving man leaves an\r\ninheritance to his children\u2019s children; and the wealth and substance, the\r\nforce, power and strength of the unrepentant and condemned sinner is laid up\r\nfor the just and righteous.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>(RAC Translation\r\n& Amplification)<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Proverbs 19:14:<\/span><\/u><\/b>\u00a0\r\n<\/span><\/span>\u201cHouse and riches are the inheritance of fathers...\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Let\r\nme pause for just a second.\u00a0 <\/span>I know some\r\nfolks will wonder why in the world I\u2019m on this topic of discussion.\u00a0 <\/span>The answer is simple.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

We\r\nare on the verge of the greatest outpouring of wealth in the history of the\r\nhuman race.\u00a0 <\/span>Many of God\u2019s people are\r\nabout to see wealth and riches on a scale they would have considered\r\nunimaginable.\u00a0 <\/span>And that\u2019s where the issue\r\nlies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nthese same folks haven\u2019t dealt with the Spirit of Poverty in every area of\r\ntheir lives, this great transfer of wealth will result in their destruction.\u00a0 <\/span>It is absolutely critical that God\u2019s people\r\nbe responsible stewards of the riches of His Kingdom \u2014 and that\u2019s a whole lot\r\nmore than just money.\u00a0 <\/span>In fact the money\r\nis really the smallest part of it.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Yes,\r\nthe money will enable visions to be fulfilled and ministries to go forth that\r\nhave been hampered year after year after year, but without a sense of what God\r\nis doing and saying, along with deliverance from the Spirit of Poverty in every\r\narea of their lives, much of the wealth will be squandered and lost.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

My\r\nDad said to me on several occasions in the last couple years of his life, \u201cSon,\r\nI\u2019m sorry I don\u2019t have a great inheritance to leave to you.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>My response to him was that the rich heritage\r\nhe left me in the Lord more than compensated for the lack of a material\r\ninheritance.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s not to say that Dad\r\nwas poor, or that he didn\u2019t leave me a material inheritance, but it was nothing\r\nlike he thought he was responsible to leave.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

So\r\nwhy would he feel that way?\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s because\r\nof love.\u00a0 <\/span>I have that same sense of\r\nresponsibility towards my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and\r\nthe Lord helping me, they will all be left with a rich spiritual heritage \u2013 AND\r\nhouses, lands, goods and money.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s the\r\ndesire of my heart.\u00a0 <\/span>I love my kids, my\r\ngrandkids, and my great-grandkids.\u00a0 <\/span>I\r\nwant them to have the best in life.\u00a0 <\/span>I\r\nwant them to be able to make a difference in this world for righteousness.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The\r\nsecond half of Proverbs 19:14 reads, <\/span>\u201c\u2026and a prudent wife\r\nis from the Lord.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Brother,\r\ncan I ever shout AMEN, to that statement!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>That word, \u201cprudent,\u201d comes from the Hebrew, <\/span>sakal<\/span><\/i><\/b>, which amplifies\r\nto read, <\/span>circumspect, intelligent, wise and teaching<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0 <\/span>No word could better describe the gift that\r\nGod has given me in my Bride of nearly 35 years, Della!<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Poor\r\nand poverty-ridden folks don\u2019t make a difference.\u00a0 <\/span>Neither do folks who are always sickly,\r\nsuffering disease and walking and living in poor health.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Why?<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Because\r\nif you are always in need, you don\u2019t have the wherewithal to meet the needs of\r\nothers.\u00a0 <\/span>You don\u2019t have a storehouse from\r\nwhich to supply others.\u00a0 <\/span>Wealth and\r\nriches and abundance are not for your personal consumption, even though you do\r\nbenefit.\u00a0 <\/span>They are the supply from which\r\nyou meet the needs of those around you.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>It\u2019s how the Kingdom of God grows, prospers, and multiplies.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s how ministries are able to reach out and\r\nmeet the needs of a dying and desperate world.<\/span> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

If\r\nyou\u2019re like me, growing up in traditional church circles, you\u2019ve probably heard\r\njust about every \u201cprosperity\u201d teaching making the rounds.\u00a0 <\/span>Some of it is absolutely right on!\u00a0 <\/span>Some of it is absolute nonsense.\u00a0 <\/span>Where do you separate the fact from the\r\nfiction?<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Just\r\nas in those principles which, when violated, bring poverty, so also are there\r\nprinciples which, when practiced, absolutely bring prosperity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Last\r\nweek, I said that poverty begins in one\u2019s mind \u2013 in their thinking, their\r\nattitudes, and their behavior.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Prosperity does too.\u00a0 <\/span>In the same\r\nway that poverty is not a lack of money, prosperity is not the presence of lots\r\nof money or a big bank account.\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Prosperity is \u2013 in no uncertain terms \u2013 the blessing of the Lord.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Prosperity\r\nbegins with giving.\u00a0 <\/span>OK?\u00a0 <\/span>Hey!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>Don\u2019t look at me in that tone of voice!\u00a0\r\n<\/span>I kid you not!\u00a0 <\/span>In order to\r\nprosper, you have to have a whole mindset of giving \u2013 and I don\u2019t just mean\r\ngiving money.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Remember\r\nthe rich man that came to Jesus?\u00a0 <\/span>His\r\nquestion was, <\/span>\u201cWhat must I do to inherit eternal life?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Jesus told him to honor the Lord God and\r\nkeep His commandments.\u00a0 <\/span>This guy was\r\npersistent.\u00a0 <\/span>So he says to Jesus, <\/span>\u201cAll\r\nthese have I kept from my youth up.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jesus\r\nlooks at the rich guy and says to him, <\/span>\u201cSell all you\u2019ve got,\r\nand come and follow me.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

OOOOPPPS!!\u00a0 <\/span>And we\u2019re told that this guy goes away, <\/span>\u201csorrowful,\r\nfor he was very rich.\u201d<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Here\u2019s\r\nthe problem.\u00a0 <\/span>This guy didn\u2019t have lots\r\nof material goods, the material goods had him.\u00a0 <\/span><\/u><\/b>He never figured out that had he\r\nobeyed and done what Jesus asked of him, he\u2019d have been so rich, he and his\r\nheirs would never have been able to spend the wealth.\u00a0 <\/span>Let me explain.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Actually,\r\nlet\u2019s hold it here for this week.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve\r\ngot some personal stories to share with you and I think I\u2019ll save them for next\r\nweek.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
