RULING AND REIGNING WITH
GOD
Part 3
August
14, 2020
We are really going to
take a different direction today, and possibly next
week as well. I want to talk today about
how we access the authority of heaven and take the rulership
over ourselves, events that take place in our lives, events that take place
with friends, and events that occur in this country and around the world.
Let’s begin today with
some scriptures that lay the foundation for our discussion.
I Kings 8:64: The
same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the
house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings,
and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was
before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat
offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
II Chronicles 6:13-17: For Solomon had made a
brazen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits
high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and
kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread
forth his hands toward heaven, And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is
no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest
covenant, and showest mercy unto thy servants,
that walk before thee with all their hearts:
Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou
hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and
hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is
this day.
Now
therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that
which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my
sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to
their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. Now then, O LORD
God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy
servant David.
I hope that you are
seeing a fundamental principle in these scriptures. In these first two examples, we see Solomon
reverencing the court of the Lord.
In the first case,
before he makes any request of the Lord, he offers up burt offerings to the Lord. In the second instance, he builds a scaffold
— an elevated place where he kneels before the Lord in reverence and reminds God
of the Covenant He had made with David and petitions the Lord to bring that
Covenant into force and manifestation before the House of Israel.
And we continue. Watch what unfolds.
II Chronicles 20:5-12: And Jehoshaphat stood in
the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the
new court, And said, O LORD God of our
fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the
heathen? and in thine hand is
there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? Art not thou our God, who didst
drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
And
they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name,
saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or
pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for
thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then
thou wilt hear and help.
And
now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount
Seir, whom thou wouldest
not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned
from them, and destroyed them not; Behold, I say, how they reward us, to
come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit. O
our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no
might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what
to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
In this particular example, Jehoshaphat comes
before the Lord in a crisis situation and stands in the court of the Lord
asking for a judicial sentence to be brought against the enemies of God’s
people. He realizes it isn’t in his
power to accomplish and pleads for what amounts to both a restraining order and
final judgement in order to bring certain action that
will deliver them.
Now the examples
change in nature. Now we are talking
about the boldness with which we can come into the court of the Lord.
Esther 5:2-3: And it was so, when the
king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the
golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther
drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. Then
said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it
shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
We will look at a few
more examples of our instruction in the Word to come into the presence of the
Lord with boldness, but take a minute to consider relationship — the love
relationship — and the desire David expresses toward being in the presence of
the Lord.
Psalm 65:4: Blessed
is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in
thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even
of thy holy temple.
Psalm 84:2: My soul
longeth, yea, even fainteth
for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth
out for the living God.
Psalm 100:4: Enter
into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be
thankful unto him, and bless his name.
We return again to
the principle of coming into the Courts with absolute boldness before the Lord
with our petitions and the absolute certainty that we will receive the grace to
fulfil that which we request.
A side note,
here. Grace is not something mystical or
ephemeral. It is not just the pleasure
of the Lord towards us. In every
instance where we see grace being given, it is nothing more and nothing less
than the empowerment and the authority to accomplish the will of God.
Hebrews 4:16: Let us
therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that
we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Do you see it? The grace of God is freely given to us when
we come into the courts of the Lord. We
will exmplore this in greater detail shortly.
Hebrews 10:19-22: Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil,
that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of
God;
Let us
draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
There is no arrogance
in the way we come before the Lord. The
principle embodied in what Paul is showing us is that if there is any area in
our life that we know may not measure up to the standards of the Word, we first
need to “sprinkle our hearts” with repentance and humility. Once that is accomplished, there is no
remaining impediment to coming boldly before the Lord to request His issuance
of a restraining order and final judgment against whatever the Enemy has either
done, or intends against us. Where there
is fear or doubt of any kind, it is impossible for faith to exist. Fear and faith are incompatible.
Ephesians 3:11-12: According
to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we
have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Let’s look at some
practical, “today” applications for the restraining orders.
Most of you already
know about the attack on my health and physical well being that occurred
recently. It started with fever, sweats,
chills, and grew into a royal incident of the flu. That was compounded with pneumonia and
something we’d never heard of before: Bird Fancier’s Lung Disease. That triggered atrial
fibrillation with my heart and cause my pulse to literally run away. When my pulse rate reached 180, I collapsed
into unconsciousness.
Della immediately
called for an ambulance and I was rushed to the ER at Baylor Scott White
Hospital in Temple. When I awoke in the
ER, my first reaction was, “Where am it? How did I get here?” After some initial diagnoses, I was put into
an Intensive Care Unit, where I spent three days before being transferred to an
isolation ward. I spent eight days in
that isolation ward while the doctors and nurses tried to figure out what all
the issues were.
On the fourth day of
being in isolation, Della had been listening to Dr. Francis Myles being
interviewed on Sid Roth’s program, and the revelations he was sharing
concerning the issuance of restraining orders.
Della shared this principle with me, and together we went into the
Courts of Heaven to request a restraining order against the Enemy and his
continual attacks on my well-being.
The following day,
what I understood to be an angel of the Lord (dressed as a nurse) came into my
room and after some brief conversation, said she had a Word for me from the
Lord. I told her to “Say on!”
The Word she
delivered was a direct response to our prayer the day before as we asked the
Lord to issue a restraining order against the Enemy.
She said, “The Word
of the Lord to you is, THJIS IS FINISHED!”
She then turned around and left my room.
Three days later (after a visit with the cardiologist and a cardioversion) I was released from the Hospital.
The doctors had
discovered a pair of bacterial infections and a virus they couldn’t identify at
the time, but said I had recovered sufficiently that there was no need for me
to remain in the hospital.
A week later, the
Pulmonologist called me and asked me to come to his office. H told me that between the two bacterial
infections and the virus, any one of them could have killed me. The fact that they didn’t was the result of
the restraining order against the Enemy that the Lord issued from His court.
I asked the doctor
what the virus was. He said, “You were
infected with a close cousin of the Coronavirus. Your recovery from it is nothing but
miraculous.”
The doctor was a
Christian, and we both rejoiced in what the Lord had done. Indeed, my strength, my energy, and my
stamina have bounced back so that except for the doctor’s orders for me to not
resume my normal daily activities for four-to-six weeks (almost three weeks
have passed already at this writing) I continue to work from my home to help
our clients and to rejoice in the presence of the Lord.
A couple days ago,
Della and I were talking about the impact of the restraining orders, and
realized that one more thing was essential: the issuance of a final decree of
judgment against the Enemy, and an order issued such that he can never attack
my health or physical well-being in any way from henceforth. We made it a point to get together and go
before the Lord again as the Judge and request a final decree of judgment
against Satan and his efforts to kill me, or at least render me incapable of
fulfilling the destiny that God has laid out.
The Lord made
specific promises to me when I was seven years of age. He confirmed those promises two years later
when He took me to Heaven. He added to
and expanded those promises a year later when He took me to Heaven for the
second time.
Then He took me in
the Spirit in 1996 on a three-month+ set of trips into the past and into the
future to show me the unfolding of that Destiny. Throughout the years, there have been various
attacks on my life, and attacks on my health.
Della commented that the attacks have been non-stop during the past
three-plus years, to the place where it has been literally exhausting — for her
especially because of her instructions from the Lord.
Hence the timely
revelation of our necessity of accessing the Courts of Heaven and the necessity
of requesting God’s judicial restraining orders agains
Satan!
Are you seeing the parallel between our
modern court system and how it has been modeled after the judicial system in
Heaven? Do you see the parallel in how
and why we have been instructed to come boldly before the Lord with our
requests, and the necessity of utilizing the authority made available to us
through God’s justice and the ruling and reigning that
takes place in a practical dimension as we access the Courts of Heaven?
This isn’t theory,
folks! This isn’t fanciful or
imaginary! This is real! And this is why so many of the body of Christ
— us included — fail to see the results we ask for when we pray.
We are not praying on
target! We are not utilizing the access
we have with God as our final authority and His implementation of restraining
orders, or decrees of judgment against the multitude of ways in which our lives
are interfered with in order to prevent our fulfilling the destinies that God
has prepared.
We will come back to
more practical applications momentarily. But let’s consider the Master pattern
—THE ONE whom we pattern ourselves after.
Ephesians 1:15-23: Wherefore I also, after I
heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not
to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The
eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope
of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the
saints, And what is the exceeding
greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his
mighty power,
Which
he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at
his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality,
and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things
under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to
the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him
that filleth all in all.
Are you seeing
it? “And
what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according
to the working of his mighty power,”
Matthew 28:18-19: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of
the Holy Ghost:
Are you seeing
it? “All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye
therefore.”
Once again: ”That
the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the
spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
IF we have a true
revelation of WHO and WHAT Jesus
is, that revelation is transformative!
It alters permanently the way we interact with Him. It is the beginning place of real
relationship with Jesus Christ.
And it is in that
place of a love relationship with Him that we begin to understand our standing
with Him — not only as our advocate with God the Father — but also the place of
authority we have to present ourselves with our requests for restraining orders
against the works of the Enemy. Without
that place of a true love-relationship with the Lord, our interaction with Him
is in timidity.
This is a different
study that we will probably take up next week, but consider the pattern of
judges that we have here in the U.S. We
have the Supreme Court as the final authority.
We have Appellate courts. Then we
have the Federal Judiciary. You see the
three levels of judges?
Now, consider the
level of authority that resides in us.
“And
what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power,
“Which
he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at
his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all
principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named,
not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things
under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to
the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him
that filleth all in all.”
We’ve been destined
to become more than plaintiffs in the Courts of Heaven. We’ve been destined to become judges. But that cannot happen when our relationship
with the Lord is contaminated. Consider
this a tidbit for what is to come.
Lots more to come!
